Make the seat cover pattern as illustrated. Cut one piece each from
fabric and lining. cut four fabric strips, 2" (5 cm) wide and 10" to
16" (25.5 to 40.5 cm) long, for ties.

2. Clip fabric diagonally at back corners, so fabric fits around the back
posts; make additional clips as necessary for smooth fit.

1. Fold tie piece in half lengthwise; stitch 1/4" (6 mm) from long edges
and one short end. Trim seam allowances and corners. Turn right side
out; press. Pin one tie to right side of seat cover at lower back corner,
with raw edges even and long stitched edge of the tie 1/2" (1.3 cm)
from lower edge of the cover. Baste tie in place. Repeat for remaining
ties.
2. Pin seam at front corners of seat
cover; stitch. Repeat for lining. Press
seams to one Side, pressing seams of
the seat cover and the lining in
opposite directions.
3. Pin lining to the seat cover, right
sides together and raw edges even.
Stitch 1/2" (1.3 cm) seam, leaving
6" (15 cm) opening centered on back
of seat cover.
4. Trim outside corners diagonally;
clip any curves and inside corners.
Press seam allowances open.
5. Turn cover right side out;
press. Slipstitch opening
closed. Position trim, if
desired, at the lower edge of
the cover or lining, using
glue stick. Turn under
1/2" (1.3 cm) at ends.
Topstitch trim in place; stitch
both sides in same direction
to prevent diagonal wrinkles.
