INTERPRETATION:

The most common illnesses in the community of Barangay 10-B Fisherman are; Uppper
respiratory tract infection which include cough, colds and fever (F=5107 13.9%), Hypertension
(F=55 7.2%), Respiratory Disease (F=25, 3.2%), Metabolic disease (F=18, 230%), Skin disease
(F=15, 2.0%), Diabetes (F=114, 1.8%), Arthritis (F=7, 0.9%), Cardiovascular Disease (F=10,
0.8%), Muscular Disease (F=5, 0.6%), Neurological Disease (F=3), Kidney Disease (F=3), and
Gynecological/ Reproductive Disease (F=3) at 0.4%, Cancer (F=1, 0.1%).
ANALYSIS:

Based on the chart, the most common illness in the community of Cavite City is the Upper
Respiratory Tract Infection; this could be because of the environment the households are on.
Their households are close to the marine area of the city in which they are exposed to wastes in
the bodies of water due to the open-dumping practice of the community. Plenty of the people in
the community do not follow sanitary practices; many of them do not use any slippers when
walking in the area. This results in the risk of acquiring different illness and diseases in the area.
In addition, their households are too close/near each at other which means there is a possible risk
of acquiring and spreading an infection one house hold has.

The following illness recorded is Hypertension, the possibility of this health problem is that the
available food that the community people are eating consists of too much sodium, continues in
taking of this food without any exercise will result in hypertension which can lead to several
other health situations.

INTERPRETATION:

In natal vaccination, 53.1% (F=525) of BCG vaccination were given to infants. 50.0%
(F=49) of DPT vaccination were given to infants. Both OPV and Hepa b vaccine were given to
infants with 52% (F=51). 48% (F=47) AMV vaccination were given to infants and 49% (F=48)
of Vitamin A were given to infants in the community.

ANALYSIS:

As you can see BCG is the leading vaccination given to infants. Therefore, there is a probability
that the community were consists of large numbers of newborn infant since BCG vaccination
were given to infant right after the birth. BCG were given to infant to prevent childhood
tuberculosis, meningitis, and military disease. DOH introduce/ releases a vaccination called
Penta-Hib which offers protection from five different infections such as diphtheria, pertussis or
whooping cough, tetanus, hepatitis B and hemaphilus influenza type B (Hib). Hib is caused by
bacteria which could lead to pneumonia and meningitis in babies. All these five infections could

INTERPRETATION:
67.3% (F=17) of the infant in the community are breast fed. 48.1% (F=25) of the infant in
the community are bottle fed. 42.3% (F= 22) of the infant in the community are receiving mix
feeding and 3.8% (F=2) of the infant in the community receives supplementary feeding.

ANALYSIS:
Most of the infant receives milk by breast feeding, which means as they grow older they have a
high possibility of having strong body immunity in fighting diseases. Based on DOH an infant
that ages 6 months and above can receive supplemental feeding which means beside of drinking
a mothers’ milk, an infant can be fed other kinds of nutritious food and most preferably with
broth.

ANALYSIS:
Most of the population are Roman Catholics because Roman Catholicism as the predominant
religion in the Philippines. In Iglesia ni Christo, there are certain food that they are not allowed
to eat like the blood of the chicken or pig. But this does not affect their health. Catholics,
however, are free to eat the pig or chicken blood, too much consumption of said food can lead to
health problems.
