Knights of Columbus and PCCW: More
than Service Organizations or Social Clubs
One of the most hopeful and exciting developments
that has occurred in the Holy Family Parish over the
last two years has been the reactivation of the Knights
of Columbus and PCCW chapters. These men’s and
women’s groups are open to all adult members of the
parish. They are dedicated to performing charitable
works within the parish and community, but are more
than another service organization within the parish.
These fraternal organizations’ main purpose is to
build the faith and virtue of their individual mem-
bers. Through fellowship, worship, and service activi-
ties, they strive to help men and women grow in their
devotion to God and in their charity towards neigh-
bor. Stated another way, their goal is the transfor-
mation of their members into the servants Christ in-
tends them to be. Who we become is first and fore-
most. What we do flows from who we are. Becoming
active in one of these organizations is one of the best
ways I know for Holy Family parishioners to grow in
their faith. Please consider participating.

The Knights of Columbus are helping the Methodist
Church with recruiting Bell Ringers for the Salva-
tion Army this Christmas Season. We need some
bell ringers at the Piggly Wiggly on Nov. 23,24 & 25
for 2 hour shifts. If you can help call Jeff Krohn at
326-6437.
Volunteers for Bingo are needed for the 2nd Mon-
day of the month. We need a floor worker and a
caller. Please call either rectory if you can help us

School news from the 5th Grade…..
As quarter 2 begins, the fifth graders have been busy
working hard. In Math, the students are working on
unit conversions and excelling their skills while using
our chromebooks on the Zearn website. In ELA, the
students have been writing personal narratives while
using our new writing curriculum. The students are also
reading Holes by Louis Sachar and using STEM activi-
ties to enhance our problem solving skills. Our first
quarter together as middle schoolers has been fantastic
and can't wait for the rest of the year!

This year’s Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service will be
held on Wed., Nov. 21st at the United Methodist
Church in Prairie du Chien. If you would like to
join the choir for this annual event - rehearsals will be
Nov. 11 and Nov. 18 at 5:00 PM at the United
Methodist Church, 625 S. Dousman, Prairie du
Chien.
