Ability to express self well in writing would say this due to the way i have expressed myself in
my cv and also my personal statement i believe there's a
lot of room for improvement with the way i express

with other people group projects in college i have noticed that i work well
with people and don't have any issues i believe there is a
lot of improvement for me as i still havent had to work in

a team team as when i am working in groups in college i have

it is very important to be able to work effectively with
people in the job i have chosen as their will always be

outcome through compromise should be able to i know this because of when i am at
home i will compromise with who does what arts of
cleaning but i will then always talk about it . i think in a

others work when a new person starts they sometimes shadow
me and i have to direct them.

main skills i will need as with in the job i will need to

Calculations
Ability to use a calculator or PC to 3 5 i believe i am able to use calculators and PCs as since i
make calculations have been young i have always used and grown up to
know about pcs. i believe in accounting using a
alculatore is a must as accountancy is all about numbers
Interpretation
Ability to interpret descriptive statistics, 1 4 i think i am not that good at interpret descriptive
e.g. ratios percentages, means, standard statistics and that in accountantcy it is important for me
deviations to be able to work out ratios percentages.
Ability to interpret inferential statistics, 2 4 i have confidence and am able to speak to different
e.g., confidence intervals, statistical people but i feel i have a lot of development to do in that
significance, effect size area as i don't feel i am fully at the level of confidence a
accountant need to be at.
Application
Ability to organise and present 1 5 in a job like accountancy it is important to be able to
numerical data in an appropriate manner organise and present numerical data i feel i need to learn
this as i don't think i am able to do this and have no
experience in this.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
File Management Techniques
Ability to create, store and retrieve files 2 5 i believe i am able to store and retrieve files but in
accountancy it will be a lot more complicated as i will
have lots more files a i do now and i will need to manage
them properly i have to learn to develop in this skill as in
the job i want to go in i will need it.
Word Processing (e.g. MS Word)
Ability to use a word processing (WP) 3 5 i have used word document since i have been in school
package to produce a variety of formats therefore i have a lot of experience in word i believe but
of documents there's a lot of improvement i will need to do before i
reach the level i will need to be a accountant but believe
i will learn this in university
Spreadsheets (e.g., MS Excel)
Ability to use a spreadsheet to record 1 5 in accounting using spreadsheet is very important but i
and manipulate different sets of data believe i don't know how to use it as well i should be
able to i have had some experience in it but feel there's a
lot of improvement to be done

emails in accounting and i believe i have the ability to do
this,.
Ability to send and receive attachments 4 5 i am able to send attachments in emails as i have been
by e-mail able to send my cv to employees via email and also send
assignments to tutors.
Ability to use an internet browser, e.g., 3 5 i am able to use the internet to research as i have been

things

conceive existing ideas in a new way able to create new ideas but i feel personally know how
to create new ideas as in college in group projects we
have had to be creative and i feel i knew what to do.

Numeracy skills being able to work effectively with numbers

In the chosen job i want to go in to (accounting and finance) working with numbers will be
one of the mail skills i will need. I will need basic numeracy skills and be able to work with
various different numbers. The reason i believe this is one of my strong points is because
i have always enjoyed maths. In college i have been made to do finance and i have
recognised that that is one of my strongest points and the one i enjoy the most.

2. verbal communication is a type of communication used such as speaking to people over

Verbal communication in accounting and finance will be very important as i will be made
to speak to various different people such as clients and also co workers and employers. I
believe this is one of my strongest skills as i have never had problems of being shy or
speaking to new people i rather enjoy it and find it very interesting. I believe i am able to
do presentations in front of large groups and still verbally communicate well

and technology is still improving therefor i feel when i go in to a job such as accountantcy
i will know and have skills of computer software

going to buy a planner and plan each day by day and follow a plan as for now i go as each day comes and am
not able to get things done.

Study Skills - from when i was in school i know i was not so good at studying i never liked studding and was
never able to sit with a book for longer than 10 min. i believe i am able to prioritise my time but it is very hard for
me to stick to plans
