conditions of society promoting impartial justice, equality, coordination and cooperation among
institutions, combating the menace of corruption, bribery, inequality, investing in education, health
and providing equal opportunities to all based on meritocracy.
The scope of development should all and sundry be for the development of socio-economic conditions
of the people. But, emphasis should be laid on the social development. Because by doing so,
conditions of destitute can be improved, poverty can be reduced. Simultaneously, many social evils
such as child labor, corruption, robbery, dacoity, snatching, street crimes, child trafficking,
kidnapping for ransom etc, can be combated. This aim can be achieved by meeting the following
basic needs of people.
The first and foremost thing is to improve educational system. This can be done by providing basic
facilities such as free education to all without any distinction, syllabus according to the modern
standards, incentives and scholarships to the needy and poor, better infrastructure and transport
facilities and equal job opportunities. This will attract the knowledge seekers to come and join
education for better future. Furthermore, education has its direct impact on men’s consciousness.
Thus, enables him to distinguish between right and wrong and good and bad. At large, it effects the
society by removing prejudices, corruption, inequality and by promoting coordination and cooperation
among people and institutions.
Second thing is to make institutions stronger, that should work under the umbrella of law and order,
without and external influence. Stronger institutions are key to development. Reversely, it will bring
unexpected problems like injustice, rights of people would be exploited for personal gains, national
interests would be at stake and may prove to be a real threat to the democracy. In such conditions,
thinking of development is of no use.
Third one is to promote equality. Equality means equality in justice; everyone should be equal in the
eyes of law, justice should be impartial, and there ought to be no room for the rule of might is right.
Equal opportunities, based on meritocracy, should be provided to everyone. This will make people’s
faith in government and institution stronger and they work honestly and sincerely for social as well as
their own betterment.
In nut shell, real development is not just improving economic statistics, but improving the social
conditions of people. Because, if the social conditions of people becomes better, the economical
conditions will automatically be improved by their cooperation.
