AIMCAT 1804 Analysis

Section I - VERBAL ABILITY & READING COMPREHENSION

The VARC section of AIMCAT1804 would definitely have soothed the nerves of
many of the students as far as the difficulty level of the paper is concerned.
With almost equal number of easy/medium and difficult questions, this section
should have contributed decenlty to a good overall score. Having this section
as relatively easier one, the number of attempts should also go up and
students are expected to jack up their accuracy too at the same time. 



About the RCs - there were five passages in all with three passages having 6
questions each and 2 having three questions each. The length of the passages
ranged from about 450 to 680 words. The questions were relatively simpler. A
well read student would have found RCs to be relatively simpler. 



The questions on VA were also relatively easier as compared to the ones from
previous AIMCATs. The verbal ability part had questions on Fill in the blanks,
Para Jumbles, Odd one out. 



Questions like 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 29, 31, 32, 33
were the ones falling under easy/medium category and the remaining
questions as little trickier ones.

Section II - DATA INTERPRETATION & LOGICAL ABILITY

The DILR section would also have provided the test takers an opportunity to
score well in this section, and to give a boost to their overall score as well.
With the average difficulty level ranging from easy to medium, the studetns
should have taken the advantage to the fullest. 



Almost all the questions were either easy or medium in nature. In DI as well as
in LR, the questions that were easy to medium picks were 'almost' all of them.
All in all, this section was purely based on one's ability to filter out the easier
ones first the relatively tougher ones to score over the rest. The questions
were based on line graph, bar graph, data arrangement, seating arrangement,
etc. Questions like 8 and 11 were the only ones which can be categorized as
difficult ones.

Section III - QUANTITATIVE ABILITY

With QA following the same trail, the test takers must have had a great time in this particular
section also. The questions tested the conceptual clarity of the students from varied areas, but most
of them were relatively easier. 



With almost 22+ questions in the easy-medium category, many of the students would definitely
have been able to maximizie their sectional as well as overall scores. 



In terms of difficulty, question number 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 15, 17, 23, 24, 25, 26 were the ones which
were the difficult ones with the remaining ones as medium and lower toughness level.
