The purpose of this project was to create a DBQ essay, and practice our skills at writing
one to see where our skill level was at. When I received the assignment, I was generally
motivated to create a good DBQ essay, as I believed that was my strong point in the exams. My
goal was to get a 7 or a 6 on the scoring, and do the best that I could.
When our class got the instructional packet, he gave out a prompt, to which we all wrote
a first draft. My first draft was mostly good with rough edges. We rewrote them polished. I
added an outside reason, explained my points a bit better, and wrote it neater than the original.
I learned not too much, other than for the outside evidence, you would have to go way
outside the time period in order for it to count. I learned that though I might not be perfect at
writing a DBQ essay, I still find it to be my strong point, and will for sure be good next time I
would write one. To improve, I would need to know a little more general information outside the
time period I would be writing about. If I could redo this assignment, I would want to create an
