Jia Daymaster

Original text:

Jia Wood reaches to the skies,

needs fire to emerge from the womb.
Spring cannot endure metal,
Autumn cannot endure earth.
If fire accumulates, mount the dragon;
if water dissipates, ride the tiger.
When earth is moist, heaven is at peace.
The trees will then be firmly rooted for generations.

Chen Su An:

Pure Yang wood reaches to the skies, strong and heroic.

Fire is wood’s child. Strong wood needs fire to manifest.

Born in spring, bullies metal, so cannot endure metal.

Born in autumn, helps metal so cannot endure earth.

If Yin Wu Xu & Bing Ding are many,

need to sit on Chen, so that DM can return to its source.
If Shen Zi Chen & Ren Gui are abundant,
need to sit on Yin, so that water can be absorbed,
Earth must not be dry; water must not be wasted.
These conditions support growth.

Ren Tie Qiao:

Born in early spring, wood is soft,

weather is cool, needs fire to shine.
Born in middle spring, wood is strong,
need to be drained for plants to grow.
Metal is at repose or trapped,
so cannot endure metal.

Born in autumn, branches & leaves fall,

but roots control the earth.
Autumn earth is drained from growing metal,
becomes extremely empty & shallow,
so cannot nurture wood’s roots.
Earth ends up getting curbed instead,
so cannot endure earth.

If Yin Wu Xu forms with Bing Ding protruding,

Chen is best as it is water storage .
Wet earth can grow wood and quench fire.

Conversely, for Shen Zi Chen & Ren Gui,

water gushes out & the flooding is unchecked.
Wood ends up floating on water instead.
Yin wood is needed to grow fire & earth (HHS)
& absorb water.

- 21 -
Metal must be sharp, earth dry, fire fierce, water strong,
for trees & plants to prosper.

(My comments: My initial interpretation of the original text is:

‘The End of Spring cannot endure Metal,
The End of Autumn cannot endure Earth.’
Chen month cannot endure Shen in Shen Zi Chen, need Yin to clash Shen;
Xu month cannot endure Xu in Yin Wu Xu, need Chen to clash Xu.

Now, 2 years later, I think my interpretation seems forced.

Although its conclusion seems consistent with the general principles of Bazi
in a roundabout manner, it does violence to the logic of the original text.

Jia loves Fire / Water structures

as the productive cycle of Water-Wood-Fire
is very intimate, efficient and immediate,
far more than Fire-Earth-Metal-Water.

Yi Wood is similar but it is Yin,

therefore it does not need tri-combo.

It seems that for Yang Daymasters,

San He is preferred to San Hui
as San Hui energy is too intense, like a stellium.)

Yi Daymaster
Original text:

Although Yi wood is flexible, it can seal the goat & resolve the ox.
Bearing Bing / Ding within, it rides across the rooster & monkey.
On superficial wet earth, riding the horse will also cause worry.
With the wisteria twining around Jia wood,
both spring & autumn are tolerable / acceptable.

Chen Su An:

Yi wood born in spring is like peaches and plums.

In summer, it's like cereal and grain / crops.
In autumn, it's like paulownia / laurels.
In winter, it's a rare & exotic flower.

By sitting on Chou / Wei,

Yi can control gentle earth,
killing the goat & saving the ox.
As long as there is 1 Bing / Ding,
even if Yi is born in Shen / You month,
it will not be swallowed.
Born in Zi month, with Ren / Gui protruding,
even if Yi sits on Wu fire EB,
it will express its growth.

- 22 -
(My comment: this might be a typo,
meaning Yi will not express its growth.)

So sitting on Chou / Wei month seems best.

Upon seeing many HS Jia & EB Yin,

one's siblings will be faithful,
just as the vine twines around
the tree for support
and will not be chopped down easily.

Ren Tie Qiao:

Yi Wood bears similar traits to Jia and is derived from it.

In spring, Yi is like peaches, with metal's control it will wither.
In summer, Yi is like grains, needs water to grow.
In autumn, Yi is like paulownia, metal strong requiring fire to curb.
In winter, Yi is like exotic flower, fire is lukewarm, earth is nurtured.

Spring loves fire to express.

Summer loves water to moisten dryness.
Autumn loves fire to curb metal.
Winter needs fire to unfreeze.

As long as one is born in Wei / Chou month,

or Day Pillar Yi Wei / Yi Chou,
Wei is Wood storage, can be rooted by coiling around.
Chou is wet Earth, can receive the Qi.

If DM is born in Shen You month,

or Yi You day pillar,
HS Bing / Ding must protrude.
Water's existence should not control or compete,
but tame and transform.
Then Yi will not be afraid
of strong Metal in a chart.

If born Hai / Zi month,

without HS Bing / Ding fire
or EB Xu / Wei hot Earth,
even if one's natal Year EB is Wu fire,
Yi will find it hard to express its growth.

With HS Jia & EB Yin around,

Yi will be safe.
Spring gives support,
Autumn gives indirect support.
Can apply to all 4 seasons actually.

(My comments:

1) During autumn,
Yi – Geng combo may work to Yi’s favour.

- 23 -
2) Yi Wood has greater affinity to Wei / Chou
due to their HHS Ji Earth.
It effectively controls Ji Earth better than Wu Earth.
Jia cannot control Ji earth because both combine into earth.
Jia can control Wu earth better.

3) Bing / Ding fire burns Shen / You metal in Autumn

to prevent metal from harming Yi Wood.

4) The original text for winter season implies that

one single EB Wu Fire in a natal chart may not be enough
to moderate the cold weather.
Ren Tie Qiao also thinks fire is desperately needed.
So there might be a typo in Chen Su An’s annotation.

To create the needed balance,

the support of HS Bing / Ding
combined with EB Wu seems essential.

5) The original text also implies

that Yi likes HS Jia / EB Yin best.
Ren Tie Qiao suggests that this combo
can overcome all 4 seasons.

6) The original texts only mention

the conditions for autumn & winter explicitly:
fire is generally the favourable element.

Ren Tie Qiao opines that Yi born in Spring

loves fire but not metal (similar to Jia),
and that Yi born in Summer
loves water.

Yi, like Jia, likes fire & water,

because of the intimate, immediate, efficient productive cycle.
But Yi does not need San He.
Both Yi & Jia do not like metal.
Also Yi prefers fire to water.
Jia seems to need both.

For Yi, Fire is useful in 3 seasons: Spring, Autumn, Winter.

Water is useful only in summer to cool the heat.
It moderates the weather
and wets the earth to grow Yi plants.

Bing / Ding serve the primary purpose of

preventing Xin from harming Yi.

In autumn, fire is best used to curb metal,

which both Jia & Yi are most afraid of.
We might think water is better,
as water can drain metal too.
But fire is the quickest fix.
Metal takes too long a time to produce water.

- 24 -
In winter, fire is most needed.
Bing Sun is the most Yang,
can evaporate water / melt ice fastest.

Ren combines with Ding to form wood.

Gui sees Wu Earth to form fire.
Both Ren & Gui end up supporting fire & earth.

It also loves to have Jia around.

Its strength more than doubles,
but Jia can afford to stand alone.)

Bing Daymaster
Original text:

Bing fire is intense,

bullying winter and snow.
It can forge Geng Metal,
but after combining with Xin Metal,
it becomes cowardly.

Much Earth makes Bing benevolent,

strong Water manifests its purity.

If Yin Wu Xu fire structure & Jia wood arrive,

fire disaster is definite.

Chen Su An:

Bing fire is like the Sun.

not afraid of autumn or winter
but bullies all of them.

Although Geng Metal is strong,

its strength can be forged.
Ironically, with Xin metal,
combination results in weakness.

Earth is the son of Bing fire.

(My comment: output elements)
With HS Wu Ji Earth,
kindness & virtue are sure.

Water is like officer / nobleman;

rich Ren / Gui imply loyalty & integrity.

As for the unsuccessful formation

of Follow Fire (Yan Shang) chart,
the presence of Yin Wu Xu with Jia protruding
will surely trigger fire disaster.

Ren Tie Qiao:

- 25 -
Bing is pure Yang fire, ‘Shi’ Flow is strong.
So it can resolve winter & snow.

It forges Geng metal,

is able to meet violence and curb it.

Upon seeing Xin, it turns cowardly instead.

Combination softens and creates peace.
A lot of earth makes it benevolent,
So Bing won’t mistreat / insult subordinates.
Strong water manifests purity,
So Bing won’t flatter bosses.
Yin Wu Xu fire structure is too strong,
Jia wood grows it, so there’s fire disaster.
Draining Bing needs Ji earth.
Overwhelming fire needs Ren water.
Making Bing gentle & subservient needs Xin metal.
Ji earth is wet in nature, so it can absorb heat.
Wu earth is dry, so meeting Bing will scorch it.
Ren water is hard & virtuous,
so it an fix strong Bing fire.
Gui water is too soft,
so Bing fire will make it dry.
Xin metal is soft,
so open combination is like a public wedding ceremony.
The secret transformation into water
mutually moderates both elements.
Geng metal is hard & strong,
When hard meets hard,
both ‘Shi’ cannot establish,
so they tend not to complement well.
What applies to the 5 elements
also applies to world affairs & human affections.

(My comments: Ren likes to have his own Water structure.

Bing, on the contrary, must not have Fire structures.
Bing is the most Yang, weather is too hot already.
With Yin Wu Xu or Si Wu Wei, it will spell disaster.)

Ding Daymaster
Original text:

Ding Fire is moderately soft / flexible,

its inherent nature shines brightly & spreads far.
By embracing Yi wood, it turns filial;
by combining with Ren water, it turns loyal.
It is strong without being too intense;
and weak without being too lacking.
With the presence of its legitimate mother,
autumn and winter are both acceptable / endurable.
(My comment: Fire's mother is wood,
which gives birth to it.)

- 26 -
Chen Su An:

Although Ding is Yin fire, its gentleness achieves moderation.

Externally gentle & submissive, internally literary and bright.
Its nature can have far-reaching influence.
Yi wood is not exactly Ding's legitimate mother.
It’s just that Yi is afraid of Xin and its embrace.
When Bing embraces Jia
fire causes wood to burn brightly.
But when Yi embraces Ding,
it ends up dimming Ding's fire instead
so its filial piety behaves strangely.

Ren is Ding's proper spouse. (My comment: DO)

Ren is afraid of Wu,
so he combines with Ding.
Ding externally comforts & compensates the bereaved Wu,
preventing Wu from bullying Ren.
Ding internally secretly combines into wood,
making Wu scared to go against Ren,
so its loyalty behaves strangely.

If born in autumn / winter,

even with just one Jia,
flames will not be quelled.
So native can endure both autumn & winter.
This is the way of gentleness.

Ren Tie Qiao:

Ding is not necessarily a candle’s flame.

It’s the gentle form of Bing.
It’s inherent nature spreads far & wide,
giving the image of literary brightness.

Ding embraces Yi, making it filial,

preventing Xin from harming Yi.
It combines with Ren, making it loyal,
secretly preventing Wu from harming Ren.

Ding alone is gentle & moderate,

so it won’t go into extremes to cause harm.
It can be strong in hour pillar
but not too hot.
It can be weak in hour pillar,
but won’t be extinguished.
When HS protrudes Jia / Yi,
natives born in autumn won’t be afraid of metal.
When EB has Yin / Mao,
natives born in winter won’t be afraid of water.

- 27 -
Wu Daymaster
Original text:

Wu Earth is stubborn and heavy,

just, central and orthodox.
In solitude it closes; in movement it opens;
gives life to all nature.
Moistened by water, nature grows.
Heated up by fire, nature falls sick.
At Feng Shui positions Gen (b/w Chou / Yin) & Kun (b/w Wei / Shen),
it's afraid of clashes and prefers solitude.

Chen Su An:

Not really a fortified wall or dam;

Wu is more like something high, thick, hard and dry.
It is the source from which Ji earth is derived.
It attains the central Qi,
becoming orthodox & great.
During spring & summer, Qi opens to birth nature
During autumn & winter, Qi closes to form nature.
That’s why it’s called the source of nature.
Yang Qi likes wetness not dryness.
If it sits Yin, it fears Shen;
if it sits Shen, it fears Yin.
Upon clash, root moves,
not orthodox Earth’s channel,
hence prefers solitude.

(My comments: HHS Wu exists in both Yin & Shen.

Clashing will shift / harm the roots.)

Ren Tie Qiao:

Wu is Yang earth, Qi is stubborn, heavy, central, orthodox.

During spring & summer, Qi moves so it opens, hence grows.
(My comment: Yang in nature)
During autumn & winter, Qi quietens and closes, hence collects to store.
(My comment: Yin in nature)
Hence earth is the source of all life.
Being high /& thick, if Wu DM is born in spring or summer.
fire is hot, easy for water to moisten,
so all things can grow, dryness will cause decay;
If Wu DM is born in autumn or winter,
water is abundant, easy for fire to warm,
so all things are formed; wetness will cause sickness.
At Gen Kun positions, Yin Shen months:
Spring loves to control earth, Qi is superficial, loves solitude.
Autumn loves to drain earth, weak body fears clash.
Also, if Wu sits on Yin / Shen day pillar, loves solitude, hates clash.
Born in (end of) 4 seasons' month pillars Chen Wei Xu Chou,
native loves Geng Shen Xin You Metal most.
Elegant Qi keeps moving, so chart will be noble.

- 28 -
Ji Earth will be the same thing.
If pillar sees wood / fire,
or if luck transits, formation will break.

(My comments:

Original text implies Wu prefers water to fire.

Wu combines with Gui to form fire,
which reinforces earth.
If fire is present first,
transformation might not take place
as Gui evaporates easily.
Gui alone causes a balance
of fire and water
to moderate Wu earth.
Purely my subjective opinion.

It is similar to Ji in the sense

that both are stubborn in nature.
Even after combination,
the result is either earth for Ji
or fire, which produces earth, for Wu.)

Ji Daymaster
Original text:

Ji Earth is humble and wet,

just, central, orthodox, tends to store & collect.
Not worried of wood's prosperity,
not afraid of abundant water.
With less fire, it will be dimmed;
with more metal, it will be bright.
For nature to be strong,
good to support & help.
(My comment: DR & IR)

Chen Su An:

Soft and wet,

Ji is the ground of Wu earth’s leaves and branches.
Central and orthodox, it can store all nature.
Soft Earth can grow wood,
wood cannot control Ji earth,
so not worried of prosperous wood.
Deep earth can absorb water,
water cannot wash away earth,
not afraid of abundant water.
Fire without root cannot grow wet earth,
so weak fire will instead be dimmed.
Wet earth can moisten metal,
so more metal makes it glorious,
shiny and beautiful.

- 29 -
Ji earth may appear useless but
if you know how to use it,
it can be wonderful.
For all things to be flourished
earth's flow of power needs to be deep and firm,
but it needs fire’s warmth to make it happen.

Ren Tie Qiao:

Ji is Yin Earth, central, orthodox, stores & collects.

Connects all 8 directions,
causes 4 seasons to prosper,
nourishes life unceasingly & is used wonderfully.
Not worried of prosperous wood,
gentle and peaceful,
can nourish wood,
wood cannot curb it.
Not afraid of prosperous water,
elegant nature, water can be stored
and will not be clashed.
When water is less & fire is dimmed, this is Ding fire.
(My comment: This should be a typo. ‘Fire’ is less.)
Yin earth can restrain fire, dimming it.
When abundant makes it shiny, this is Xin metal.
Wet earth can birth & moisten Xin metal.
If pillars’ earth Qi is deep and firm,
and receives Bing to balance the Yin & wet Qi,
all things can be birthed.
This is the concept of supporting and helping.

Geng Daymaster
Original text:

Geng Metal is aggressive,

hard & strong to the extreme.
With water it becomes clear & pure;
with fire it becomes sharp.
Wet earth makes it grow;
dry earth makes it brittle.
It can defeat Jia brother,
but succumbs to Yi sister.

Chen Su An:

Geng is the sky’s Extreme White ‘Tai Bai’.

(My comment: the planet Venus.)
It carries killing, is tough and healthy.
It is healthy when it sees water,
as Qi flows clearly.
It is tough when there is fire,
as Qi is pure and sharp.
With water in earth, Geng can grow.
With fire in earth, Geng will be brittle.

- 30 -
Jia wood is strong,
but with enough strength, Geng can cut it down.
Yi wood is weak,
but with combination, Geng turns weak.

Ren Tie Qiao:

Geng is autumn's killing Qi,

hard & strong to the extreme.
When it receives water to become clear, this is Ren water.
Ren water grows, connecting to its strong killing instinct.
Hot metal is immersed into water
to strengthen its awareness & make it sparkle.
When fire makes it sharp, this is Ding fire.
Ding fire is Yin in polarity & gentle, not a threat to Geng,
thus it is good for forging metal
making it a useful sword.
Born in spring and summer, Geng is weak.
With Chou Chen wet earth, Geng can grow.
With Xu Wei dry earth, Geng turns brittle.
Jia wood is its proper enemy,
wood can be chopped.
With Yi there is affection.
Yi combining with Geng does not make it violent,
Geng combining with Yi does not make it weak.
Need to analyse in detail.

(My comment:

Original text + Chen Su An says

Geng Yi combo into metal turns weak.
Ren Tie Qiao says depends on other factors.
Yi definitely weakens Geng's strength to some extent.
Based on my own life events,
I can attest to this.

Geng prefers water to fire,

also prefers wet earth to dry earth.

No mention of tri combo ‘San He’ structures at all,

quite unlike other Yang DMs like
Jia, Bing, Ren.
For Jia, need Fire or Water structure.
For Bing, must not have Fire structure.
For Ren, must have Water structure.)

Xin Daymaster
Xin Metal is malleable and weak,
moderate wetness makes it clear.
It fears earth's accumulation,
loves Water's abundance.
It can support the god of land,
and rescue all of life.

- 31 -
Hot weather likes mother.
(My comment: earth mother gives birth to metal.)
Cold weather likes Ding.

Chen Su An:

Xin is Yin metal, not really considered jewellery.

Xin is known for its be gentle, moderate, clear, moist.
A lot of Wu / Ji buries it, so it fears earth.
Ren / Gui makes Xin elegant, so it makes Xin happy.
Xin is Bing's subordinate; both combine into water,
making Bing fire submit to Ren water,
calming / supporting the god of land.
Xin is Jia's ruler, combines with Bing to become water,
causing Bing fire not to burn Jia wood, saving nature.
If Xin is born in summer and sees Ji earth,
fire will become dim, causing Xin to survive.
If Xin is born in winter and sees Ding fire,
fire can counter the cold and grow Xin.
Hence if Xin is born in winter and sees Bing fire,
males will not have a noble life,
or may have a noble life but not loyal.
Females will negatively affect their husband.
Even if curses are not involved,
the couple will not be well-matched.
For both genders, Ding is better
& will make Xin noble & harmonious in relationships.

Ren Tie Qiao:

Xin represents our planet’s 5 various metals for hardware:

gold / silver / copper / iron / tin.
It is attractive when clear & moist.
It is afraid of earth’s accumulation.
Wu earth is too heavy; it dries up water & buries metal.
Xin likes water’s abundance.
With Ren, it can moisten earth and grow metal.
Xin is Jia's ruler; Bing can burn Jia,
but if both combine into water, Bing cannot burn Jia,
resulting in the image of mutual growth.
Xin is Bing's subordinate
as Bing can produce Wu earth,
but if both combine into water.
earth cannot be produced,
also resulting in the beauty of mutual support.
How does Xin support the god of land
& save all native?
If Xin is born in summer where there’s too much fire,
Ji earth is needed to dim fire & grow metal.
If Xin is born in winter where water is strong,
Ding fire is needed to make water warm & grow metal.
That's why hot weather needs earth mother Ji,
cold weather needs Ding.

- 32 -
(My comments:

In summer, Xin DM will have DO or 7K as month command.

Ji earth is IR and is preferred to Wu earth DR
as wet earth is preferred to dry earth.

In winter, Xin DM will have resource as month command.

Bing cannot melt ice / evaporate water
as Bing combines with Xin to form even more water.
Ding is best as it combines with Ren to form wood,
which produces even more fire;
an affectionate combination.

Like Geng, Xin likes water.

But Xin prefers water to earth,
unlike Geng which prefers water to fire.)

Ren Daymaster
Original text:

Ren Water connects rivers, can drain Metal’s strength.

In the midst of Yang strength, there is benevolence / virtue.
It flows unceasingly without restraint.
Once it is rooted & Gui protrudes,
the heavens and the earth will be shaken.
Transformation will be sentimental,
following will cause mutual support.

Chen Su An:

Ren is the source of Gui, like water from Kun Lun mountains;
Gui is Ren's destination, like water from Fu Sang (mystical tree of life).
There is separation & combination;
luck transition never ceases.
Represents hundreds of streams,
the cause of rain & dew.
Both cannot be divided.
Shen is like the floodgates of heaven,
the mouth of heavenly river,
Ren's growing ‘Chang Shen’ Qi phase.
can drain western metal.

(My comment: as compared to Gui,

since Gui is more ephemeral
and detached, like the clouds in the sky.)

Ren waters should be allowed to rush through.

That’s why the text says the benevolence / virtue of Yang strength.
Shen Zi Chen with Gui protruding will cause
the flow of power, it cannot be stopped.
Example: If the eastern sea flows from the heavenly river,
floods will occur.

- 33 -
If wealth & officer stars are absent,
disaster is sure.

Ren combines with Ding to transform into wood,

This combination is affectionate.
It curbs Bing fire
by preventing her from stealing the affection
between Ren and Ding, making Ren a virtuous gentleman.

Months of Si / Wu / Wei / Shen

contains Earth and Fire,
evaporating Ren then forming rain and dew.
Although fire and earth are followed,
Ren can mutually complement with them.
(My comment: Fire & earth are Ren’s wealth / officer stars.)

Ren Tie Qiao:

Ren is Yang water. Once the river connects, it is heavenly river.

Shen is growth ‘Chang Shen’ phase, heavenly river’s mouth.
It’s also in Feng Shui direction Kun (near Shen).
Ren water grows from there.
It can drain western direction’s killing Qi,
That’s why it’s called benevolent / virtuous Yang strength.
It’s the source of a hundred rivers, flows without ceasing,
hence very hard to retreat.
If Shen Zi Chen is complete,
and Gui protrudes, a flood will occur.
Even with Wu / Ji earth, Ren will be impossible to stop.
Curbing water strongly will result in water disaster.
Wood is needed to drain.
Follow the flow of power.
Don’t openly clash.
Ren combines with Ding to form wood,
in turn growing fire which won’t be extinguished.
Transformation is affectionate.
If Ren is born in Si Wu Wei months,
fire & earth will be strong
without metal or water to support.

If strong fire has fire HS protruding, follow fire.

If strong earth has earth HS protruding, follow earth.
By moderating & moistening, there is mutual complementation.

(My comments: Ren, in contrast to Gui, can drain Metal.

It would also love to have Gui around to reinforce its powers.

Chen Su An included Shen which might be a typo;

Ren Tie Qiao took Shen out
since Shen is the floodgates of heaven.

Ren DM likes its own Water structure Shen Zi Chen

as it likes to be strong but it needs to meet Ding fire
as Ren Ding forms wood which reinforces Ding.

- 34 -
Affectionate combination.
So it is preferred to Earth.

I thought Water DMs are more

psychic than the rest.
Also thought DMs with more Yin elements
are more psychic.

From Bazi POV, we tend to associate money

with the Metal element, which in Western astrology
also relates to the planet Venus.
Venus rules over romance but also over wealth.

‘Water’ people tend to be more psychic.

But Western astrologers usually do not associate Mercury
with psychic powers.
Psychic planets were Neptune which rules Pisces,
Moon which rules Cancer,
Pluto which rules Scorpio, all of which are water-based signs
But Mercury, the ‘water planet’ according to Chinese astrology,
does not rule over any water signs.
Instead Mercury rules Gemini, an air-based sign.

This is the chart of

one of the richest men in the world today:

DM
?? Ren Jia Geng
?? Zi Shen Wu

His Ren DM is well supported by Shen-Zi water

formation right below.
If his hour pillar had EB Chen dragon,
the water structure would have been complete.

Even if it had been complete,

would he suffer from floods or
all kinds of catastrophe? No.
EB Wu in year pillar
clashes with EB Zi day pillar
to provide the necessary check.
Hidden in EB Wu is HHS Ding,
which has a sentimental combination
with DM Ren to form Wood,
which reinforces Ding further.
Ding fire, according to DTS
is better than Bing fire,
and it cannot be put out
as Ren DM himself supports it.

Without even checking hour of birth,

this chart already fulfills 75% of
DTS criteria of Ren DM
shaking the heavens and the earth.

- 35 -
This is the chart of Warren Buffet,
born in 30 August 1930.

He transitted his Ren Chen decade pillar from

2003 - 2012.
Did he die from any flood? No.
Instead, the Dragon decade
completed his water structure,
with EB Wu fire providing the exact balance he needed.
He became the RICHEST man in the world in 2008.
In 2012, 'Time' ranked him
as one of the most influential people in the world.

Last year in 2015, his ranking dropped to 3rd wealthiest.

Currently he is 86 years old, transitting Gui Si decade.
Not as good as Dragon decade so far,
but we never know do we?

This is the chart of another

Ren DM who is currently ranked
Number One, the richest man in the world:

DM
?? Ren Bing Yi
?? Xu Xu Wei

The above chart shows that DTS

in its brevity cannot possibly elucidate every
dimension of potential success.

If anything, this chart is the EXACT anti-thesis

of Warren Buffet's chart.

The only similarity is that Chen Dragon is missing.

If Chen Dragon was in Warren Buffet's chart,
water structure would be formed,
which is auspicious.

If this chart had Chen Dragon,

both Xu Dogs would have clashed with it,
creating even more Earth.
All 3 EBs are already Earth,
with Wei Goat punishing both Xu Dogs.
Chen Dragon will prove detrimental,
unless this chart becomes a 'follow' chart.

This is the chart of Bill Gates.

His Geng Chen decade luck transitted in 2012,

Which happens to be Ren Chen year.
Now he is still transitting Geng Chen luck,
and he is currently the RICHEST man in the world
as of August 2016.

- 36 -
This makes it very possible
that Bill Gates' chart is a 'follow' chart.
Out of his 6 characters (without hour of birth),
only HHS Xin support Ren DM.
Two 7K stars with 1 DO side by side,
creating confused officer.

A friend of mine who used to work in

the higher echlons of Microsoft
once told me: Bill Gates is someone
u should admire from afar.
But he is not someone u want to
work with side by side in the same office.
He can be overbearing, to put it mildly.

Ren Daymasters, like Water to the Ocean,

don't tend to keep money to themselves.
Once they have it, they really give it away.
Both Warren Buffet and Bill Gates
really live up to their name as Ren DMs.
They are some of the greatest philanthropists of all time.
But you wouldn’t want to be their children as
not much money would be left for you.

Gui Daymaster
Original text:

Gui water is weak but reaches to Tian Jin (a province in China).

Attains Dragon in luck, work transforms into god.
Not afraid of fire & earth, regardless of Geng or Xin.
Combines with Wu earth to form fire, image transforms into reality.

(My comment: According to Chinese commentaries,

the mentioning of Tian Jin has significance in that
the city is located in the East, signifying Wood.
Tian Jin is technically located in the Northeast
if your point of reference is the centre of China.
Wikipedia states that Tianjin
is technically in the North.)

Chen Su An:

Gui water is pure Yin and it’s weak.

Fu Sang (the mythological tree of life) has weak water.
Reaching Tian Jin, it follows heaven’s luck.
Upon attaining the Dragon, it forms clouds & rain,
able to moisten all creation.
Work transforms into god.
If pillar has Jia Yi / Yin Mao, can transport water’s Qi,
grow wood, fix fire, moisten earth, nurture metal.
It will be a noble chart.
Not afraid of a lot of fire & earth.

- 37 -
As for Geng Xin, Gui does not depend on them to grow.
A lot of metal won’t affect Gui either.
Wu earth alone will affect Gui water,
transforming into fire.
Wu earth grows Yin, Gui water grows Mao.
These belong to east, so fire can grow.
The ground is not satisfied with south east.
Wu earth is at its extreme.
Gui water is at its end.
It is the direction where the Sun rises,
therefore Gui transforms into fire.
If Wu Gui meet Bing Ding protruding,
regardless of its strength,
even during autumn or winter,
transformation into fire will be most real.

Ren Tie Qiao:

Gui water is not really rain & dew.

It is pure Yin water.
It travels far but it is weak.
Its flow is quietest.
It can moisten earth & nurture metal,
birth all nature.
When Gui receives Dragon luck,
its transformation is unpredictable.
Dragon is Chen.
Text does not refer to the transformation
of a real dragon.
That which transforms Chen
must have its original essence
exposed in the HS.
Out of the 10 stems
which meet Chen,
finding the stems that protrude
the transformation god is not easy.
‘Not worried of fire / earth’
signifies Gui’s weakness.
Seeing fire & earth will result in
‘following’ & ‘transformation’.
Regardless of Geng Xin,
weak water cannot drain metal’s Qi.
Too much metal makes murky,
this is Gui water.
Gui combines with Wu earth to form fire,
Yin in its extreme births Yang.
Wu earth is dry & thick,
If pillar has Bing fire protruding,
drawing out the transformation god,
it will be real.
But for the case of autumn & winter
where metal & water are strong,
even if EB meet Chen Dragon
& HS protrude Bing / Ding,
it may be hard for Gui to follow & transform.

Students should be aware.

(My comments:

Among all other Yin stems,

Gui has the greatest tendency to follow power.
The idea of 'Qi' Aura & 'Shi' Power is useful.
I translate this as the Flow of Power.

Could be the ancients' roundabout way of saying

that Yang HS is more attracted to Yin HS
and vice versa.

The concept of 'follow charts' is also possible.

There is one form of follow chart called the 'Cong Shi Ju'
or 'Follow Power Chart'.

DO star might be so strong and overwhelming

that Gui succumbs to Wu earth as a favourable influence.

Overwhelming Wealth stars or EG / HO stars are also considered

As part of this 'Cong Shi Ju'.
There are also a lot of complicated permutations in this category.

Gui DM, being the most volatile and weakest of all DM,
has the greatest tendency to follow power, especially 7k / DO.

Which tendency is greater, 7k or DO?

Should be DO, because DO has the opposite polarity.
Wu earth.

Which EBs have Wu? Chen Dragon & Xu Dog.

For both cases, HHS Wu tend to combine with Gui to form Fire.
Is transformation successful or unsuccessful?
Which EB has the better quality of Wu to combine with Gui?

Chen has the most unstable Earth compared to

the other Earths Wei Xu Chou.
It has HHS Wood Yi and Gui Water.
Wood controls Earth. Earth controls Water.
The elements hidden inside Chen are incompatible
with Earth itself and are waiting to be released.
Clash with Xu will do the trick to release the elements.

Gui HHS in Chen reinforces Gui DM.

It also produces HHS Yi Wood,
in turn reinforcing fire which is created by Wu-Gui combination,
finally supporting Earth.
It's a very smooth cycle of production.

Xu is the only other EB that has HHS Wu.

Its HHS are Xin & Ding.
It is not the best choice as
Ding clashes with the Gui.

Gui has the inherent tendency to
favour East instead of West
due to the propensity
to transform into Fire.
Wood feeds fire, but metal exhausts fire.

Chen Su An feels that Gui does not depend

on Geng to grow, and is not affected by its abundance.
During autumn & winter,
as long as Bing / Ding is protruding,
fire transformation will still take place
despite unfavourable conditions.

Ren Tie Qiao agrees that Gui is too ephemeral

and weak to drain metal.
However, he also thinks that too much metal pollutes
and corrupts, and will prevent fire transformation
during autumn & winter despite Bing / Ding.

This contradiction will continue to confound

even practitioners.

The criteria for transformation into fire is disputed

between Chen Su An & Ren Tie Qiao

功化斯神 / 化象斯真:

The Chinese have a term 斯须 (sīxū)

to imply immediacy, urgency.
Upon meeting the Dragon,
the transformation will be very magical (Shen)
& real (Zhen).

Not only will the Dragon transformation

take place regardless of any circumstances,
it will also take place quickly / immediately
as Gui is the most volatile of all the elements.
If we interpret the original text this way,
Master Chen Su An might be right about this one.

My notes on Ren / Gui water:

Both Ren & Gui like Fire.
Ren would like to have Gui to reinforce it.
Ancient texts do not explicitly say
that Gui would like to have Ren around,
but the mutual affection might be inferred.

Metal supports Ren but not Gui.

Gui can do with or without Metal.
Ren Tie Qiao thinks Metal
makes Gui worse - unable to transform Dragon.)
