Voltmeter is measuring 120 oscillations per minute i.e. frequency is 120/60 = 2HZ.

2 Hz is a rotor frequency.

Now, Always in case of Induction motors, Rotor runs at “slip frequency” which is noting but “slip times supply frequency”.

Here slip frequency is 2 Hz and supply frequency given is 50 Hz.

i.e. Slip x (Supply frequency) = 2Hz.

Slip x (50) = 2 Hz

So, Slip = 2/50 = 0.04

Frequency is known as oscillation per second

So here rotor frequency is equal to 120/60 I.e. 2hz

And we know that rotor frequency is equal to slip times of supply frequency

So slip equals to 2/50 I.e. 0.04

120 oscillations/minute= 2 oscillations/sec.

Voltmeter is connected to rotor side. Voltmeter make one oscillation in forward whenever induced emf in positive cycle. In negative cycle it moves in backward. So pointer in voltmeter completes 2 oscillations when induced
emf completes one cycle. From the problem it completes 120 oscillations in 1 minute results 2 oscillations in one sec.

2 oscillations in voltmeter=(one positive and negative half cycle of induced emf. )=one cycle of emf.

so the frequency of the emf= 1 cycle in 1 sec.

so rotor frequency =1Hz.

As we know that rotor frequency=slip*Supply frequency.

so slip=rotor frequency/Supply frequency

slip s=1/50=0.02.

Rotor frequency is 120/1min

= 120/60 secon

= 2Hz

Rotor frequency = slip × supply frequency

2 Hz = slip × 50 Hz

Slip = 2/50

Slip = 0.04 (4%)
