1. For each category, one Cycle will be given as first prize.

2. The runner up will be awarded with the prestigious Kamalam John Samuel Memorial rolling Trophy
sponsored by Mr. J.C.D.Prabhakar, Ex.M.L.A.,

3. Glittering cups / mementos will be given to the remaining 110 rankers (110 Nos.) & two rankers each
from sponsor, TI Cycles of India and venue sponsor, SBIOA MODEL MAT.HR. SEC. SCHOOL respectively.

4. TI Cycles Ever Rolling Trophy for Best Performing School/ College.

5. Special award will be given to the school sending more students.

6. Special award will be given to the Chess Academy sending more students.

Prize Distribution Function: 9th July (Sunday) 2017 at 1700 Hrs.

RULES AND REGULATIONS:

Eligibility: Only Tamil Nadu School / College players are eligible to participate.
System of play: The Tournament shall be played under FIDE Rapid rule (30 minutes each). Totally, 9
rounds shall be played unless otherwise decided by the tournament committee before the
commencement of the tournament.

Schedule of play: On the first day, 4 rounds will take place with the first round commencing at 10.30 a.m.
On the second and final day there will be five rounds with the first round commencing at 9.30 a.m.

Age Limit:
U-08 : Participant born on or after 1.1.2009
U-10 : Participant born on or after 1.1.2007
U-12 : Participant born on or after 1.1.2005
U-14 : Participant born on or after 1.1.2003
U-25 : Participant born on or after 1.1.1992

The last date of entry is 5th July 2017. No entry will be entertained after last date. Effective payments
should be made on or before 5th July 2017 before 1700 Hrs.

TNSCA registration is compulsory. TNSCA Registration fee is Rs.150/- for the year 2017-2018. Players
registering with TNSCA should submit duly filled and signed TNSCA Players Registration form along with a
copy of their Date of Birth certificate and one passport size photograph. The date of birth certificates
registered within one year of the birth of the Player alone will be recognized and allowed to participate.

Tiruvallur District Registration is compulsory for Tiruvallur district players. The district Registration fee is
Rs.50/- for the year 2017-18.

Entry: A school / College may send any number of Entries. Points of the best performers of the school /
College (Same Institution) from different or same categories will be calculated to decide the school /
College, winning the Trophy.

Entry Fee: Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two Hundred and fifty only) per player, can be sent by D.D.in favor of
Tiruvallur District Chess Association payable at Chennai only to: Tiruvallur District Chess Association,
No.24, Janani complex, IIIrd floor, M.T.H.Road, Thirumullaivoil, Chennai-600 062 (Opp: Thirumullivoil

Important Note: TI Cycles of India is sponsors of this tournament and they are not in any manner
responsible for any incident or eventuality that may take place at the venue. Any complaint or
suggestion to the organizers of the Tournament, Tiruvallur District Chess Association should be
contacted.
Special Concession: There will be 100% concession in the entry fee for participant of the wards of
employees belonging to the sponsors of the Tournament viz., M/s. T.I. Cycles of India Limited and 50%
concession in the entry fee for participant of SBIOA MODEL MAT.HR. SEC.SCHOOL and Govt.School
Schools of Tamilnadu. They should submit Bonafid certificate from their respective schools principal/
Head Masters. However they should register with TNSCA for the year 2016-17 by paying Rs.150/-.

The prize winners may receive their prizes directly from the Dignitaries. On no account the prizes will be
given through another person.

Chess Sets: The participants are required to bring their own International chess sets (and Chess Clock if,
any) .

Tie Break: Buchholz tie-break rules will be applied.

Decision: The Arbiters’ decisions’ shall be Final and Binding on all participants.

Merit Certificate: All Players will get participation certificates. However Certificate will not be issued
before the final standing is displayed on the notice board.

The TNSCA /Organizer Tiruvallur District Chess Association reserve the right to admit/refuse any entry
without assigning any reason thereof.

The TNSCA /Organizer Tiruvallur District Chess Association reserve the rights of admission to the venue
and lodging places.

Discipline: In disciplined chess players inside the school premises will be debarred from the Tournament.
The unconsumed food particles and other wasted eatables including fruit skins must be deposited in the
dustbin only.

Food: Food can be had in the canteen on payment.
