The proposed Internet of Things (IoT) system helps to detect the storage of food
items and transmit the quantity of available food items to the users via mobile
application. Contents Acknowledgement 4 Abstract 5 1 Introduction 10 1.1 Aim

Aim The proposed design aims to implement a smart refrigerator system, which
is easy to use and economical for the user. Objective The objective of this system
is to propose a concept of IoT based intelligent refrigerator which not only
weights the content present in the refrigerator but also sends alert message
when the content reaches a certain specified threshold level. 1.3
This system was designed to manage the level of contents in the storage bottles
and also maintain the temperature through sensors. It is capable of notifying it
owner about the activities going on inside it via wireless system on the mobile
phone. We are able to get real time information, quality(in term of expiry), and
quantity of food items which are stored inside the refrigerator. Future Plans 1.
With the help of pressure sensors we can sense the presence of vegetables inside
the refrigerator which have a threshold of 500gm approximately 3. Whenever the
contents inside the refrigerator goes below the set threshold it generate a trigger
and the message is send to the user. 1. This system deals with the content
present in the storage bottle 2.
Whenever the content in the storage bottles gets low, we get notification and we
can immediately place an order for that particular contents. 3. According to the
weather conditions, this system gives us the idea about temperature present
inside the bottles so that protecting the contents according to the weather
condition. 4. Temperature can be maintain for different content as per its
requirement. 1.
If load value is below the threshold value then send the notification to the user
on the mobile phone. 4.2 Hardware description 1.Arduino :It acts as main
controlling unit. It collects data from odour sensor and two load cells and sends
message about its requirement. 2. Odour sensor: The basic idea is to detect the
chemical constituents that contribute to the odour in the substance. 3. Load cells:
they are used to measure weight.
4. Keypad: it is used to select one of the two container. 5. LCD Display: it is used
to display the amount of vegetables present in the containers. 6. Limit Switch: It is
used to continuously monitor the level of vegetables in the container. 7. GSM:
GSM(Global System For Mobile Communication) is used to send message.
Chapter 5 Detail Design 5.1 Hardware Design 5.1.1
Arduino Arduino is an open source hardware and software company, project and
user community that designs and manufactures single- board microcontrollers
and microcontrollers kits for building digital devices and interactive objects that
can sense and control objects in the physical and digital world Some of the
specifications of Arduino Nano V3.0:- Microcontroller ATmega328. Operating
voltage: 5v. Input voltage: 7 to 12v. Analog input pins: 8. Digital I/O pins: 14 /

GSM SIM800 is one of the most commonly used GSM Module among hobbyists
and Arduino community.Even though AT command reference is available with a
quick Google search, it is not very easy for a beginner to properly understand and
use Arduino with SIM800. Therefore, this post summarizes how a beginner could
interact with SIM800 using Arduino / Figure 5.2: GSM 5.1.3
ODOUR SENSOR This is a simple to use compressed natural gas (CNG) sensor,
suitable for sensing natural gas (composed of mostly Methane[CH4])
concentrations in the air. The MQ-4can detect natural gas concentrations
anywhere from 200-1000 ppm. / Figure 5.3: Odour sensor 5.1.4 Load Cell A load
cell is a transducer that is used to create an electrical signal Whose magnitude is
directly proportional to the force being measured.
The various load cell types include Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Strain gauge. / Figure

crystal to produce a visible image. The 162 LCD display is a very basic module
commonly used in DIYs and circuits. In this LCD each character is displayed in a
57 pixel matrix. / Figure 5.5:LCD 5.1.6
Conclusion In this chapter, we have done the analysis of the solutions available
for the implementation of smart grocery system using IoTs. Smart grocery system
using IoT is cost effective and user friendly system for customers. It not only helps
to induce organized for grocery shopping, it additionally saves our time and
money.
With smart grocery system, one can be relax and stop worrying of continuously
being in follow, and checking the grocery containers in our house. We will get
notification about the low level of grocery and we can place order for particular
item. This helps in ease of society and one step forward of making our city smart.
Future work or related work for smart grocery system is we can directly place
order by android application in our smart phones,so developing an application to
automatically placing order to grocery shops is further implementation in this
system. References [1] Prapulla S B & Dr. Shobha G Dept. of CSE,RVCE, Bengaluru,
