CHAPTER ONE
1.0 INTRODUCTION
The contents in this report highlight what has been done and observed during the field attachment
practical, it covers the period from 30th July to 07th Sept 2017. The field work was conducted in
TEOFILO KISANJI UNIVERSITY TABORA CENTRE. The main areas covered in the report,
historical background, function of company and challenges & solution,
This field study has provided a student an opportunity to engage and to contribute workable
solutions for the identified challenges that hinder the desired objectives, mission and vision of the
organization. Methodology used to ensure student’s participation in computer maintenance, network
trouble shooting and installation and software installation.

1.1 objectives.

According to the 2012 Population Census, the population of Tabora Region is 2,291,623 of
which 1,129,730 are males and 1,161,893 females. Population growth rate is 2.9 compared to
National rate of 2.7.
The Region is headed by the Regional Commissioner, who is the representative of the President of
the United Republic of Tanzania. He operates his functions through a Regional Secretariat that is
led by the Regional Administrative Secretary.
1.2.1 Vision
To be an efficient, competent and dedicated technical resource for supporting development
initiatives of Local Government Authorities and other stakeholders to enable them provide
quality Services to the people, practice good governance and a link between Central
Government and Local Government Authorities.
1.2.2 Mission
To facilitate capacity building of Local Government Authorities and other stakeholders for
sustainable Socio-economic development of community while inter-linking with Sector
Ministries and adhering to good governance.

Lack of standard and guidelines of managing electronic records since there are no guidelines on the
capture, storage, retrieval, security, preservation of electronic records. Solution Prepare proper

Lessons learnt
In my field period conducted at RAS Tabora organization the following are the main things I’ll
been learn in ICT department.

There is no enough table and chairs for ICT staff. Enough office equipment needed such as

CONCLUTION
My practical training gave me a clear vision under this industry of Information and Communication
Technology. Through practical training I obtain a wide knowledge, experience and confidence that
I can do, also I have encountered my ability and enough knowledge on my carrier and being among
competitive and strong technician to handle most of computer problem. Although in my career I
faced some difficulties but it was not an obstacle in achieving my goal.
