The audience will consist of middle and high school teachers grades 6-12. The majority of the audience

are inexperience with technology or first-year teachers at the school. The teacher will be introduced to

Nearpod and Kahoot. There is about 10% of the teachers who have either used Kahoot or Nearpod

before in their classrooms.

Problem Identification

The teachers do not have a lot of experience using tools that will engage their students in learning. In

the Dougherty County School System, we have Promethean Boards in our classrooms that work so the

teacher can project the Nearpod lessons and Kahoot games. Teachers have not been adequately

introduced to technology tools that will grasp and keep students’ attention.

Assessment and Instructional Strategies

I will be given the teacher an opportunity to participate in an actual Nearpod lesson. The lesson that I

selected was on a basic elementary school level. I want the teachers to experience a lesson as if they are

the students. The students will participate in fill in the blanks, open-ended questions, drawing, and a

simple multiple choice quiz.

Universal Design of Learning

1. Representation: This staff development teacher will be using Kahoot and Nearpod to learn how to

engage their students in their lesson and assessments

2. Expression: Teacher will have the opportunity to use their personal expression through a Kahoot

game and an interactive Nearpod lesson.

3. Engagement: Teacher will have a chance to give me their feedback on how they felt about the staff

development.
