Big Ideas/Unit Goals:

- Students will be able to construct and present a family tree and model home in Spanish. They will gain a better understanding of social
relationships in Spanish by creating a family tree with their own family members and presenting it in Spanish. After the family tree is completed
other topics such as professions, life at home, and the community will be addressed by creation of a model.

Unit Summary:

- "La familia, donde comienza la vida, el amor nunca se termina." Throughout this unit plan students will have the opportunity to use their creativity
and create a family tree. This activity will help students explore the titles and pronunciation of members of a family. Not only will students be
explored to a lot of different key terms but they will also learn about different cultural contexts regarding family in Spanish speaking countries.

Later on in the unit will create a model home. This model home will be constructed either online through the use of an online resource or can be
built by students with different materials. They will not only learn the terms and vocabulary associated with a home in Spanish, but they will also
be able to describe the use of each different room. Students will present both their family tree and model home during different occasions to their
class. This presentation will be conducted entirely in Spanish.

1. Anaheim Public Library: I would like for all the students to become familiar with the local Anaheim Public Library. Here they can have access to
various resources such as computers, books in both Spanish and English, alongside other services the library provides. If students do not have access
to a computer at home this a place where they can stop by to borrow one or simply study. Students should feel free to navigate the website and visit
it during their spare time.

good story.
