A project conceived and carried out by its founder alone will not be as good as a shared project.

We are all researchers today. We want to find the answers for the questions that we have. What’s
new in music, politics or the universe? There is no question outside our reach.
But a good researcher knows that Google is not the only place for good discoveries. We need to
find, screen and organize the things we are looking for. Otherwise, your good intentions might
become a source of misinformation.
Doing research is an entrepreneurial competence that equips us to find opportunities and fills us
with knowledge to deal with anything we commit ourselves to doing. It also expands our repertoire
and makes us specialists in the area we do research.

HOW CAN YOU HAVE AN ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT IN A COMPANY?
There is no need to create a business if you want to be an entrepreneur. It is possible to have an
entrepreneurial spirit in a company, a phenomenon that is known as intrapreneurship. It is all about
identifying and developing actions in the company we work for. By questioning and effecting
changes, you can become the agent of innovation at the company, either in socially relevant
projects or in the organization’s business model.
SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP
It is possible to make money and change the world with entrepreneurship. Your dedication to
that means finding solutions for social and environmental problems as you create a context of
sustainable development for society. This kind of entrepreneur tends to apply the business models
based on collaboration rather than competition. These include NGOs and social businesses (known
as Sector 2.5), that generate profits by finding the solution for a social problem. Undergraduate
students of PUCRS who are interested in this area can develop their ideas in the elective course
“Project Challenges: Innovation and Social Impact”.
FIGHTING FOR A CAUSE: FEMALE ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Having an entrepreneurial spirit can also be a political tool. The purpose of an idea can generate
social, environmental and economic impact and so can the way you produce it. Entrepreneurial
actions taken by women (and also for women) are important tools in the quest for gender equality
in the market. PUCRS Business School is keen to promote discussions and workshops about female
entrepreneurship in order to develop the concept. Come in!

world. Because we need to awaken our
potential in order to change the world, in
an effort to understand ourselves and our
interests. To have an entrepreneurial spirit is
to be the best version of ourselves.

IDEAR PUCRS
At PUCRS, entrepreneurial education means learning to produce benefits to society, rather than
just creating businesses. We work on the development of constructive individuals relying on cross-
sectional competences and who are capable of changing ideas into real projects.

For us, an entrepreneurial spirit is a distinctive trait in the training of people who produce social
and economic changes. Hence, IDEAR has a strategic role to fulfill, as it is one of the agents of
promotion and encouragement of an interdisciplinary and innovative entrepreneurial attitude that
produces positive impact on society.

We bring all academic areas of the university together for the benefit of an entrepreneurial attitude
and training of people who can think up projects to change the world.

IDEAR is keen to promote interdisciplinary courses, lectures, workshops, active classroom At IDEAR you can find a number of courses that will serve to meet the needs of the market, as
