(CNN)In an order laced with language accusing President Donald Trump of attempting to rewrite
immigration laws, a federal judge based in San Francisco temporarily blocked the government late
Monday night from denying asylum to those crossing over the southern border between ports of entry.

Judge Jon S. Tigar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California said that a policy
announced November 9 barring asylum for immigrants who enter outside a legal check point
'"irreconcilably conflicts" with immigration law and the "expressed intent of Congress."
"Whatever the scope of the President's authority, he may not rewrite the immigration laws to impose a
condition that Congress has expressly forbidden," Tigar wrote, adding that asylum seekers would be put
at "increased risk of violence and other harms at the border" if the administration's rule is allowed to go
into effect.
The temporary restraining order is effective nationwide and will remain in effect until December 19,
when the judge has scheduled another hearing, or further order of the court.
The order is the latest setback for the administration that has sought to crack down on what it says are
flaws in the immigration system, and it is a victory for the American Civil Liberties Union, the Southern
Poverty Law Center and other groups who argued it is illegal to block someone based on how they
entered the country.
"This ban is illegal, will put people's lives in danger and raises the alarm about President Trump's
disregard for separation of powers," said the ACLU's Lee Gelernt.
"There is no justifiable reason to flatly deny people the right to apply for asylum, and we cannot send
them back to danger based on the manner of their entry," he said.
Earlier this month, the President issued a proclamation referring to "large, organized groups" who were
traveling through Mexico and "reportedly intend to enter the United States unlawfully or without proper
documentation and to seek asylum."
It said that those seeking entry can only do so temporarily at recognized ports of entry to allow for
"orderly processing" and denied entry to those at any other location along the southern border.
"But aliens who enter the United States unlawfully through the southern border in contravention of this
proclamation will be ineligible to be granted asylum," the President wrote.
"The arrival of large numbers of aliens will contribute to the overloading of our immigration and asylum
system and to the release of thousands of aliens into the interior of the United States," the proclamation
read. Land was stolen under apartheid. It still hasn't been given back

South Africa's land dilemma 04:35

Besters, South Africa (CNN)To understand what questions of land seizures and farm murders are all
about, rural KwaZulu Natal is a good place to start.

Roland Henderson walks on the creaky floorboards of his stone farmhouse and points to a series of five
sepia photographs hanging on the cream wall.
"These are my ancestors on the wall. So, if I loaf about during the day, they are watching me," he says
with a chuckle.
Henderson's family has farmed in Besters, a cattle district of rolling grassland hills and acacia trees, for
five generations.
"History is complicated in South Africa," I remark to him. "Our forebears took land from people. If not
always directly, it was certainly helped by the legislation of the previous government. What do you think
of that part of your legacy?"
"We can't ignore that. I don't think commercial farmers should atone for all the sins of apartheid that were
committed," he says.
In Besters, the farmers are grappling hands-on with one of South Africa's most challenging historical
problems.
When Nelson Mandela and the African National Congress came to power in South Africa in 1994, one of
the key dilemmas they faced was the so-called land question.
The policy of pushing non-white South Africans off the land to the benefit of whites officially began with
the 1913 Native Lands Act, though in reality the practice stretches back centuries.
The act limited black ownership to just 7% of the land. The vast majority of viable land was allotted to
whites.
71-year-old Wilson Shabalala's land claim was finally granted, only to see the government official
in charge of the transfer take the farm for himself.
71-year-old Wilson Shabalala's land claim was finally granted, only to see the government official in
charge of the transfer take the farm for himself.
President Cyril Ramaphosa recently described the Lands Act as South Africa's "original sin."
"In my own family it happened twice, where land was taken, we were moved from where my parents had
grown up owning land, working the land, they were moved and dropped into an arid place with no
compensation whatsoever," said Ramaphosa in an exclusive interview with CNN.
"As it is now, the poverty that we have in South Africa, in part, has been given rise to by people not
having assets."
This racist geography was accelerated during the apartheid years, when legislation codified the nationalist
party's aims to keep races physically separated. Blacks and mixed-race South Africans were removed
from cities and pushed into townships or homelands -- land allotted to non-whites, according to their
ethnic identity.
They had to have a passbook, a kind of internal passport, to travel to designated white areas.
In Ladysmith, the nearest town to Besters, the "black spots" in town were erased in the 1970s, the non-
white families forced out to a township called Ezakheni, some 15 miles away.
With the advent of democracy, land redistribution was, in theory, a top priority. But the South African
government's efforts have been beset by problems.
The farmers in Besters didn't wait for them to rectify the past.
In our district I have seven neighbors and they are all different colors ... there's place in the sun for us all.
Roland Henderson, farmer

More than a decade ago, the commercial farmers in Besters held hundreds of meetings with the local
community. As a result, with the help of government money, they have redistributed almost half of their
district's land.
"It's complicated and there are many layers of history and many layers of conflict, but if you put
everybody around a table and you talk to each other openly and honestly, you can find each other," says
Henderson.
Emerging farmers like Ndizane Khosa have used their new land to raise cattle, chickens and sheep, and
access to capital has allowed them to pull their families out of poverty.
Farmers like Ndizane Khosa have used their new land to pull their families out of poverty.
Farmers like Ndizane Khosa have used their new land to pull their families out of poverty.
"When we were growing up we had no idea how this farming worked, but our grandkids have the
opportunity to learn properly now. I can pass that knowledge to them," Khosa says.
"In our district I have seven neighbors and they are all different colors, but we live happily together and
there's place in the sun for us all," says Henderson.
The success of land redistribution in Besters is the anomaly, not the norm.
Exhaustive studies show that the ANC-led government has failed to execute its policy of land restitution
and redistribution because of corruption, mismanagement and a lack of will. The vast majority of private
land -- farmland included -- is owned by whites.
"A lot is at stake," said Ramaphosa. "You could even say that the stability of the country is at stake. And I
am not fond of failing at anything. And this issue we will not fail on."
The ANC, pushed by an insurgent opposition party on the left, has resolved to amend the constitution to
explicitly allow land redistribution without compensation. It is a highly contentious move that is working
through a parliamentary process.
Henderson's agreement to hand over some of his property is an anomaly rather than the norm.
Henderson's agreement to hand over some of his property is an anomaly rather than the norm.
While Henderson, Khosa and the other farmers of Besters managed to broker a negotiated future for the
land in their rural slice of South Africa, they are facing new pressures to take sides in the land debate.
RELATED: They're prepping for a race war. And they see Trump as their 'ray of hope'
They say the extremes could scupper the experiment of a democratic South Africa.
"We are getting drowned out by the rhetoric and by the noise of the politicians and the noise of others,"
says Henderson on the balcony of his farmhouse. "It is difficult to galvanize the middle, because we tend
to be more silent than the extremes. The middle needs to have their voice heard."

(CNN)An English rugby team is fighting to save a gay teammate from being deported to Kenya, where
they fear he will face persecution or imprisonment.

Kenneth Macharia, who has lived in the UK since 2009, has had his request for asylum rejected and is
now being detained in an immigration center pending deportation, his club has said.
His fellow players at the Bristol Bisons, a gay and inclusive rugby club, have set up a petition and
launched a social media campaign in an attempt to force the Home Office to reverse the decision.

With heavy hearts we are sharing the news that one of our members has been detained pending
deportation from the UK.

Kenneth Macharia has had his request for asylum rejected and now risks being deported to Kenya, fearful
of persecution and violence in Kenya because he is gay.

"Ken's story is yet another example of the Home Office ignoring the risks that LGBT people face in
multiple countries around the world," teammate Andrew Holmes wrote in a petition to UK Home
Secretary Sajid Javid that is close to reaching 5,000 signatories.
"Deporting a good, hard-working, gay man to a country where homophobic violence and imprisonment is
rife is immoral and unjust, and should be stopped," the petition says.
Kenyan law prohibits "carnal knowledge against the order of nature," which is punished by up to 14 years
in prison. According to a government report, 595 cases of homosexuality were prosecuted between 2010
and 2014.
Tanzania's LGBT community 'fearing for their lives'
Tanzania's LGBT community 'fearing for their lives'
Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta told CNN earlier this year that the subject of lesbian, gay, bisexual and
transgender rights "is not of any major importance" to Kenya.
"Ken is deeply concerned about being deported to Kenya, where he would face persecution, and he
wishes to stay in the UK to contribute to society," the team's petition says.
"Ken is a quiet, kind, and caring person and he is one of the most loved people at our rugby club. Our
team would not be the same without his warm character," it adds.
Bristol Bisons were founded in 2005. It claims to be the "only inclusive rugby team" in the southwest of
England, welcoming players regardless of sexuality.
Macharia told BBC radio from the center where he is being held near Heathrow Airport that in addition to
laws punishing homosexuality, "there is a lot of mob justice that takes place in Kenya because the police
are generally inefficient and the general public have a habit of taking the law into their own hands."
People suspected of being homosexuals are routinely harassed across East Africa, where homosexuality is
illegal in almost every country.
The LGBT community in Tanzania, which borders Kenya to the south, is currently being victimized in an
anti-gay crackdown, after Paul Makonda, the regional governor of Dar es Salaam, promised to set up a
task force to capture people suspected of being gay.
The UK Home Office has frequently come under criticism from rights activists for deporting or rejecting
asylum to LGBT people from countries where homosexuality is persecuted.
It said in a statement it has a "robust assurance mechanism" when considering such deportation cases.
It added: "This Government has a proud record of providing protection for asylum seekers fleeing
persecution because of their sexual orientation or gender identity and the UK remains a world leader in its
approach to handling this type of asylum claim." Dead fish to fuel Norwegian Hurtigruten cruise liner

At least six of Norwegian cruise liner Hurtigruten's ships will run partly pn biogas produced by fish
scraps.
(CNN) — The cruise industry is booming, thanks to its promise of spectacular views, exotic locales and
floating luxury. But as the appetite for ocean travel rapidly grows, there's been growing concern about its
environmental impact.
Fish scraps might be part of the solution, according to a Norwegian cruise operator.
Hurtigruten, known for its trips through Norway's fjords and to the Arctic, will power a fleet of ships
partly through liquified biogas -- which is produced as dead fish and other organic waste decompose, the
company said in a press release.

High-sulfur fuel favored by the shipping industry has been found to produce sulfur oxides, a contributor
to the acidification of seas and rain. Concern over the issue led to the International Maritime Organization
to set a 0.5% sulfur limit on marine fuel by 2020.
A 2017 report by German environmental association Nature And Biodiversity Conservation Union
(NABU) found that a midsize cruise ship can use well over 100 tons of fuel a day, producing as much
particulate as a million cars.
Emission free goal
The 125-year-old Norwegian company, which operates 17 ships, plans on at least six of its ships to be
operating on a combination of biogas, liquified natural gas and large battery packs by 2021.
"While competitors are running on cheap, polluting heavy fuel oil, our ships will literally be powered by
nature," Hurtigruten Chief Executive Officer Daniel Skjeldam said in a statement.

"Biogas is the greenest fuel in shipping and will be a huge advantage for the environment. We would love
other cruise companies to follow," he added.
The company is taking other steps to boost its green credentials: it has ordered three new hybrid-powered
cruise liners, has banned single-use plastics from all its ships and plans on becoming carbon neutral.
"Sustainability will be a key driver for the new era of shipping and the travel industry... Our ultimate goal
is to operate our ships completely emission free," Skjeldam said. Airbnb removes Israeli West Bank
settlements listings
By Oren Liebermann, CNN

Updated 0910 GMT (1710 HKT) November 20, 2018

(CNN)Airbnb has announced that it is removing listings of rentals in Israeli settlements in the West Bank,
saying they are "at the core of the dispute between Israelis and Palestinians."
In a press release issued Monday, the company said the decision would affect some 200 Airbnb listings.
"We are most certainly not the experts when it comes to the historical disputes in this region. Our team
has wrestled with this issue and we have struggled to come up with the right approach," the statement
said.
"We concluded that we should remove listings in Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank that are at
the core of the dispute between Israelis and Palestinians."

Airbnb did not say when the listings would be removed.
PLO Secretary-General Saeb Erekat called the decision to remove the listings "an initial positive step".
"Israeli settlements are not just an obstacle to peace but defy the very definition of peace," Erekat said in a
statement.
Palestinian leaders had called on Airbnb to remove the listings in Israeli settlements nearly three years
ago, saying in a letter to the company that "Airbnb is effectively promoting the illegal colonization of
occupied land."
Israeli leaders slammed the decision and called on Airbnb to reverse it. "This was a disgraceful and
miserable decision and a disgraceful surrender by the company," said Tourism Minister Yariv Levin.
Levin instructed his ministry to implement measures to limit Airbnb's activity in Israel, while also
creating a program to promote tourism and accommodation in rentals in West Bank settlements.

Human rights organizations hailed the decision as a positive step by the company.
Omar Shakir, Israel and Palestine Director for Human Rights Watch, said in a statement: "Airbnb's
decision to end its listings in Israeli settlements is an important recognition that such listings can't square
with its human rights responsibilities. We urge other companies to follow suit."
Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem are considered a violation under international
law, as reaffirmed in United Nations Security Council resolution 2334, as well as one of the primary
obstacles to peace. Israel disputes this and insists the status of the West Bank is more ambiguous under
international law. Olympic great Mo Farah to run in 2019 London Marathon

Farah, who made his marathon debut at London in 2014 while still a track star, finished third this year
behind world record holder Eliud Kipchoge.

Kenyan Kipchoge, a three-time winner in London, raised the bar for marathon running when he clocked a

(CNN) — "In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes," goes the idiom. But
for travelers, nothing's certain but death, taxes and hikes to airline baggage fees.
2018 has been the first major year since 2013 to see a rash of baggage fee hikes among airlines. In
August, both JetBlue Airways and United Airlines raised checked baggage fees on domestic U.S. flights
by $5, with the first checked bag costing $30 -- up from $25 -- for flights in North America, Central
America and the Caribbean.
Air Canada and WestJet immediately followed with similar changes and, within weeks, competitors
American Airlines and Delta Air Lines announced changes that paralleled these, also upping bag fees by
$5.
According to U.S. Bureau of Transportation statistics, the U.S. airline industry collected $2.4 billion in
the first six months of 2018, up 7% from the same period a year earlier, and is on track to total more than
$5 billion for the year.

Baggage fees are big business, a business thriving at the expense of consumers who squint at the fine
print while packing the night before a trip, only to find that they'll need to be ready to pay more at the
airport.
Thankfully airlines typically have a webpage featuring the details of what (and what isn't — looking at
you, sports parachutes and scuba air tanks) allowed as checked luggage, and any fees or packaging details
that may be associated. Delta's is one of the most comprehensive, even volunteering information on how
to check a Christmas tree ("adequately packaged with the root ball or cut base and all branches wrapped
and secured using a burlap type material," in case you were wondering).
Here are the details on the most common categories of extra baggage when you travel:
Musical Instruments
packing violin
Violins can come on board with you, but cellos may need their own seat.
Jernej Furman / EyeEm
Small musical instruments like violins and wind instruments may be carried on the plane as cabin
baggage, but do protect them with a hard-shell case.
It's the larger instruments that require special accommodations, and in most cases airlines understand the
value these items have for a guest, as well as their fragility.
Thus, guitars and cellos may be able to travel in the cabin with you, as airlines often offer the option to
purchase an extra seat for these with more than 72 hours advance notice, and provided your itinerary
includes aircraft capable of safely fitting the instruments.
Many major international airlines, like British Airways, even allow travelers who have purchased seats
for their instruments to board the aircraft early and secure the instrument in place.

Sporting Equipment
The most common sporting items checked as baggage include golf clubs, surfboards, bicycles, skis and
snowboard gear, but don't be too shocked if you spot another traveler waltzing up to check-in desks with
bags of all shapes and sizes.
Airlines will accept appropriately packaged and protected items as wide-ranging as spearguns, javelins,
snowshoes, scuba gear, and, in some cases, even entire kayaks. And if your bocce balls, collapsible hiking
poles, and sturdy footwear for a vacation hiking through Italy's Cinque Terre region all fit in a bag within
the airline's standard weight and size allowances for checked bags, there'll be no charge to check it.

When it comes to figuring out fees, surfers have it easiest thanks to the work of the Wave Tribe surf gear
company, which compiles an annual listing of surfboard boardbag fees.
On it, airlines like Qantas, Singapore Airlines and KLM rank as "surfer friendly bros" for charging below
$100, while others, including Emirates and Thai Airways, are derided as "Daddy Warbucks" airlines for
charging over $200 per boardbag.
The worst offender, according to Wave Tribe, is Qatar Airways, with blindingly steep sports equipment
fees that begin at $350 and rise to $1,750 per piece, depending not on weight but arbitrarily on itinerary.

There's good news for golfers and skiers, however; golf clubs and ski/snowboard gear are welcomed
complimentary on both U.S. domestic and international flights with major carriers, provided the cases

As a standard, that means ski, snowboard, or golf gear bags shouldn't be larger than 75 x 29.5 x 25.5
inches or weigh more than 50 lbs (or you'll face excess weight fees).
Bicycles, although common, aren't without their challenges and fees. Airlines require bicycles to have
their pedals and other projecting pieces removed or folded, and the handlebars turned parallel with the
frame before packing it into a cardboard bike box or hard-shell bike case.
Fees per bike for domestic U.S. flights range from $75 on Southwest Airlines, to $150 on United,
American, and Delta. On international flights, bike cases are often allowed as part of the complimentary
checked baggage allowance with advance notice, as on British Airways.
Leslie Byxbee, public relations and social manager for Virgin Atlantic, tells CNN Travel that the airline
has seen a bit of everything checked as luggage on the airline's long-haul flights from London to the
Caribbean, but sports equipment like scuba and cricket gear is by far the most popular.
Play Video
Check out the new upgrades and features coming to airplane cabins in the next few years.
Byxbee notes that the "most surprising piece of luggage," a horse saddle box, was checked at Antigua. "It
looks like a small fiber-board drum, and is the trunk that the saddle and grooming supplies for a horse or
two horses would be transported in. No, we do not accept horses as checked baggage!"
On the other side of the world, Air Tahiti is eager to fly scuba divers (and their gear) to the many islands
of the archipelago. Divers should of course follow scuba decompression practice of waiting until 24 hours
after a dive to fly, but when that time has passed, remember to show a scuba certification card at Air
Tahiti check-in to take advantage of the airline's extra 11-lb bonus for divers. This is in addition to the
already generous complimentary checked baggage allowance of 50 lbs per person.
Another airline that loves to delight travelers through waiving bag fees is JetBlue, which has promoted
seasonal routes by lifting charges for sports items like surfboards and bicycles.

Dimitri Otis/Getty
Morgan Johnston, JetBlue's manager of corporate communications, shares with CNN Travel that the
airline is preparing for the December launch of flights to Colorado ski destination Steamboat Springs, but
that travelers packing up to hit the powder won't need to worry about extra fees: "The most popular
[checked sports items] would likely to be snow skis or golf clubs, but both are accepted as standard
baggage without additional service charge."
Perhaps the most liberal when it comes to sports equipment is Seattle-based Alaska Airlines, since the
carrier's focus on Pacific Northwest travel also means catering to guests seeking to enjoy the region's
outdoor pursuits.
They are the only U.S. airline allowing kayaks as checked baggage, with the exception of on their smaller
SkyWest- or Horizon Air-operated flights. Other airlines restrict kayaks to only the folding sort, which
aren't the best choice for a kayaking tour of Washington's San Juan Islands or an Alaskan kayak-fishing
expedition.
Everything else

If you want to go to Alaska, feel free to bring wine back with you -- provided you're flying Alaska
Airlines.

For some airlines, the realm of baggage fees is an avenue for creative promotions, and oenophiles with
travel booked on Alaska Airlines will be happy to learn that the carrier recently expanded their popular
"Wine Flies Free" program, which allows passengers to check for free a case of wine (up to 12 bottles)
from vineyards in the states of Oregon, Idaho, Washington, and now, California.
"The bottom line is that we fly to the country's best wine regions, and are eager to share these great
varietals with our guests by making it easy to bring a case back home," Bobbie Egan, Alaska Airlines
director of external communications, tells CNN Travel.
For airlines not as wine-friendly as Alaska Airlines, and for everything else, call your airline more than 72
hours ahead of your flight or, even better, before you book the ticket, with concerns or special baggage
requests.

Nations League A1 match.
(CNN)The Netherlands booked its place in the Nations League final four with a sensational, come-from-
behind 2-2 draw with Germany on Monday night, rounding out the list of finalists for the inaugural
edition of the tournament.

Holland will join host Portugal, World Cup semifinalist England and Switzerland in the four-team mini-
tournament next June, after an injury-time volley from Virgil van Dijk evened the score at the Veltins-
Arena in Gelsenkirchen.
The Dutch trailed against their biggest rivals for the vast majority of the match following an early goal
from Timo Lerner just before the 10-minute mark, before Leroy Sane doubled the Germans' lead.

Dutch forward Quincy Promes celebrates after scoring his team's first goal on the 85th minute.
It wasn't until the 85th minute that the Oranje found the net through Quincy Promes. With coach Ronald
Koeman having nothing to lose, he then dramatically shifted the team's shape to move Liverpool defender
Van Dijk up front as an auxiliary striker, as the final seconds of regulation time ticked down.
The move proved to be a canny one, with Van Dijk only taking minutes to change the team's fortunes
with the last-gasp equalizer, volleying home from a Tonny Vilhena cross.
"When we were 2-0 down (Holland assistant coaches Dwight Lodeweges and Kees van Wonderen) asked
me if we should change things around and I said yes," Koeman said.
"In the end it's fantastic that the equalizer came from the guy who was told on the note to push up front."
The result, which sees Germany demoted to League B for next season, cast a pall over legend Thomas
Muller's 100th cap.

Upping the game
The Dutch side, which had been underperforming for several years and missed the summer's World Cup
jamboree in Russia, came into Group A1 as heavy underdogs, facing France and Germany, the winners of
the last two World Cups.
"It's a fantastic feeling. I think we should be all proud of ourselves -- I'm certainly very proud of my
team," Van Dijk, the Holland captain said after the match.

"We worked very hard today, we struggled at times and they did very well, so we are obviously very
happy that we finished first in the group, and that we're going to play the final four games of the Nations
League and I think it's just a great feeling for all of us," added Van Dijk.
"We worked so hard for every game and to get rewards for that is fantastic."
Although late in coming, goals were always on the cards for the Netherlands, the team having only failed
to score in one of its last 15 matches -- and the Dutch have only lost two of those.
Finalists decided
The table-topping point means that the Dutch team will be booking tickets to Portugal next summer,
meeting the three other top-ranked League A teams. The semi-finals of the knockout competition take
place on June 5 and 6, with the third-place playoff and final taking place on June 9.
The winning team will take home a new, 71cm-tall (28 in) sterling silver trophy and a €7.5 million ($8.6
million) check.

woman begging on streets despite having a FLAT begs for cash because it’s ‘this or be a hooker’
Emily, who lives in Cambridge, discussed her begging - which she described as 'work' - in an upcoming

A "FAKE" homeless woman has defended begging on the streets every day despite having a council-paid
flat because "it was either this or be a hooker".

Emily, who lives in Cambridge, discussed her begging - which she described as "work" - in an upcoming
BBC Three documentary "Fake Homeless: Who’s Begging On The Streets?".

When asked by presenter Ellie Flynn how often she begs on the street, despite receiving benefits every
two weeks as well as her flat, she said: "I try and turn up every day. This is work to me."

But when pressed on why she begs despite not being homeless, she responded: "It's work, like I say. It's a
job. It was either this or be a hooker.

"That's the truth. There aren't many options for a person like me."

The documentary follows police officers trying to deal with the problem of "fake homelessness" in British
town centres - with forces across the country claiming that "deceptive" begging has become and
increasing issue.

Another man featured in the documentary, Damian, from Liverpool, described himself as "genuinely"
homeless and told presenter Ellie that it "p***** me off" to see "fake" homeless people begging in the
city.

Cambridgeshire Police has stated that there has been a significant surge in begging, but officers maintain
that there are no rough sleepers on record.

It is estimated that 4,751 people are sleeping rough on any one night in Britain - and 600 of those are in
the Cambridgeshire area.

While it is not known how many "fake homeless" people there are in Britain, Merseyside Police have said
that 80% of people arrested for begging between 2015 and 2018 have accommodation.

The documentary also explores the radical extremes some have gone to in a bid to stop begging on the
streets.

Among them is Ashley Sims, a shamed businessmen exposed by The Sun Online for celebrating attacks
on Muslims, who has claimed he is on a mission "expose fake rough sleepers" in Devon.

Mr Sims says that he wants to try and protect the "business fraternity" of his community, so in an attempt
to stop begging he offered accommodation and even drug money to addicts so they would get off the
streets.
When confronted on this in the film, he said: "F****** hell of course you let them take drugs.

"That's what they do. That's why they are in this situation they are in.

"That's why they have blown every chance they've ever had."

THE KEY FACTS: How many homeless people are there in the UK, where are they and what are the
main causes?
How many people sleep rough in Britain each night? According to the latest figures, 4,751 people are
estimated to be sleeping rough on any one night. Is rough sleeping on the rise? There was an increase of
15% from 2016 to 2017, while since 2010 rough sleeping estimates show an increase of 169%.Which
areas saw the biggest increases? In 2017, the North West of England saw the biggest percentage increase
in rough sleeping since last year (39%). This is followed by the East Midlands (23%) and Yorkshire and
the Humber (20%).What are the main causes for homelessness? Some factors and experiences can make
people more vulnerable to homelessness: these include poor physical health, mental health problems,
alcohol and drugs issues, bereavement, experience of care, and experience of the criminal justice system.
Structural factors can include poverty, inequality, housing supply and affordability, unemployment,
welfare and income policies. Structural and individual factors are often interrelated; individual issues can
arise from structural disadvantages such as poverty or lack of education. While personal factors, such as
family and social relationships, can also be put under pressure by structural forces such as poverty.

But it is not just vigilantes who are taking firm action - the police have also stepped up efforts to tackle
begging.

Sergeant Phil Priestley of Cambridgeshire Police previously said: "We do not want people to be misled,
because it can be a lucrative opportunity.

"It is natural to feel for anyone who appears to be living on the streets or who seems to be affected by
hardship.

"We urge anyone who wants to assist the issue of homelessness to donate to a registered charity who will
take a coordinated approach to tackling the problem.

"If you do feel moved to give something - offer food or a warm drink by all means - but please do not
offer money."

In Torbay locals launched a campaign to drive "fake homeless people out of seaside town".

Homeless charity Humanity Torbay urged people not to give money to beggars or the homeless directly
but to homeless charities who provide food, clothing and help.

It was the 35-year-old's first time back on stage in four years with her new single Love Made Me Do It,
which saw her lick her hand as she danced sexily in a black bodysuit.

Insiders have told The Sun Online Cheryl has been left devastated by the backlash after seeing all the bad
reviews flood in on social media.

She now thinks she'll never be able to win over her "haters" - despite many fans loving her return to pop.

A source told us: “Cheryl’s devastated over the harsh comments about her performance.

"She goes on social media to interact with her fans and it actually shocked her, reading some of the

"At first she was angry – she watched the performance back over ten times and can’t understand what she
did wrong.

"She just feels like some people are always going to be against her and she can’t change their minds.”

The raunchy routine before the 9pm watershed didn't go down well with fans, who were stunned by the X

Basically, from my point of view the reasons why the performance didn't impress were as follows:

1. Cheryl is no longer a teenager but a woman with a baby, and in the collective consciousness her time as
a pop-star is up. There are singers with babies like Adele, but Adele has a strong stage presence and
strong voice which Cheryl doesn't, and Adele doesn't try to be sexy.

The prudish public finds it uncomfortable to watch a yummy mummy being sexy on the stage. In the
collective consciousness, you're only justified in doing that when you're a single, childless woman on the
lookout for a man, other than that - it doesn't seem authentic.

2. Cheryl has more charm and beauty than the vocal talent.

3. The song is simple (several low notes plus just 5 high notes) to suit Cheryl's voice range. Sorry!

4. The lyrics suggest the song is aimed at women disappointed with their love choices. It's off-putting for
men - which all in all means Cheryl looses a lot of interests from both sides.

But do not despair, Cheryl, you'v got a baby, you're a multimillionaire and you can withdraw from the
industry gracefully and still live a fullfilled, comfortable live others can only dream about.

She never could sing but these days it doesn't matter. Her come back song is dire and its clear her days are
over. She tried to put on a performance to remember and she did for all the wrong reasons. Shes clearly
wanting to be the next Madonna icon etc hence dropping which ever surname she has at the time but shes
just not in the same league. Even Simon clearly thought she'd lost the plot.

It comes after the 32-year-old last night apologised for "any offence" he caused by setting up the

Ben had earlier said he needed help after having to reduce his hours at work when his wife got ill during a
“complicated” pregnancy.

As donations soared to more than the £2,000 he was asking for, the dad has expressed his shock in an

Ben added: "In the new year we are going to make it one of our priorities to make monthly donations to

Ben's appeal came after his wife was admitted to hospital on several occasions with a lung infection -

The target was smashed in a matter of hours - going from £0 to £2,015
To support his family during the troubled pregnancy, Mr Buckley says he had to reduce his working
hours.

But it left himself “struggling and panicking” as to how he would fund gifts and Christmas essentials for
his children, including his new two-week-old baby girl.

Another added: "I’m all for asking for help when needed but £2000 of everyone else’s money is a
