RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.
This resource is a website where you download a software to be able to screen record on your computer. It also allows for you to
pause during recording. You can get a free version that allows 2MB of storage.

INTEGRATION/IMPLEMENTATION IDEA - SCREENCASTING

How might you use this resource to promote student learning? Describe who will be doing the screencasting – you or your
students, and what purpose it will serve.
Using Jing to screencast is a great way for the students to understand technology. It is a little on the more complicated side,
requires to be downloaded and also requires adobe flash to replay their videos. When downloading the students have to read
through directions and make sure they properly download the software to their computers. It also allows for the students to
show how to use websites or anything on their computers.
I can also use Jing to screencast information about homework websites or if I need them to do a lesson at home, I can make a
video of instructions of things online but also things written.

• Explain your rating based on the indicators on the rubric.

Based on my rating from the scale I think that this website would be rated as a 2. I think it is a great resource for me as a teacher
to use to provide information to my students and for them to become familiar with using websites that require different types of
software that needs to be downloaded to work. It may not encourage student learning, but it is a good way for me to get
information out to students.
