CHAPTER III

METHODOLOGY

This section presents the methods to be used in conducting this

study. It includes research design, respondents of the study,

instrumentation and data collection, and statistical treatment used in the

study.

Research Design

The researchers shall use the research and development (R&D) type of

research. The researchers will gather needed data from the College of Arts

and Sciences. The development of the proposed system shall be based from

the gathered data. Information about the problem and alternative solution

shall implemented and related to the sources. The study involves analyzing,

designing, developing, and implementing.

The system shall be focused on the development of the Online Faculty

Evaluation System for College of Arts and Sciences. The researchers will use

the Incremental Model in the development of the proposed system.

Instrumentation and Data Collection

The following are the instruments that will be used in gathering the

data needed in this study: interview, literature review, observation, survey

questionnaire and evaluation questionnaire.

Interview. The researchers will conduct a personal interview with the

college clerk or the college dean to come up with information regarding

about the present system of faculty evaluation in the College of Arts and

Sciences.

Literature review. The researchers will do internet research, reading

on books, journals, unpublished researchers, magazines and newspapers to

gather data related to the study.

Observation. The researchers will conduct an observation inside the

classroom as the students are evaluating their instructors.

Survey Questionnaire. The researchers will distribute survey

questionnaires to the students to gather data needed in the study.

Evaluation Questionnaire. The researchers will distribute survey

questionnaires to the faculties to determine the level of effectiveness of the

proposed system.

Tools for Data Analysis

In evaluating the survey of the present system and level of acceptance

of the proposed system of College of Arts and Sciences the following scale

will be utilized.

 Weighted mean will be utilized to determine the present status of the

evaluation system of College of Arts and Sciences.
