Expected quality level for Civil Engineering Student (EQL)

S.No At the end of Second Semester Students should be able to


1. Communicate in English
2. Name and handle all fundamental basic concepts in civil engineering.
3. Draw any given object / component / Element with standard drawing.
4. Recognize the fundamental terms, applications and unit dimensions.
5. Demonstrate fundamental laws/ mechanism in civil engineering
6. Get exposed with all the events/competitions/opportunities around the world.
7. Be aware of scopes for higher studies and competitive exams.
S.No At the end of Fourth Semester Students should be able to
1. Demonstrate the bending moment, shear force and the corresponding stress distribution
for different types of structural components
2. Demonstrate basic principles / fundamental laws of fluids and their application in real world
3. Deliver
problems. in fundamental survey laws and solving the real time problems by using different
types of surveying equipments.
4. Deliver understand the importance of advanced techniques involved in surveying.
5. Deliver the topographical formation, interior earth, gradational activities and weathering
and also the theory of plate tectonics which answers the reason for the occurrence of
earthquake, landslides in an area.
6. Analyze the surface and subsurface geological structures of the crust, soil and weathered
thickness through geophysical exploration and report writing aspects with relevance to civil
engineering projects.
7. Assess the geological aspects of the site suitability with relevance to the design of civil
structures and vice-versa.
8. Impart the knowledge about concrete making materials, properties of fresh and hardened
concrete, special concretes, mix design and non-destructive testing.
9. Use conventional surveying tools such as chain/tape, compass, plane table, level in the
field of Civil Engineering applications such as structural plotting and highway profiling.
10. Apply the procedures involved in field work and to work as a surveying team.

Practice and get familiar with Hydraulic Engineering concepts and equipments.
12. Achieve high accuracy, many separate mathematical functional operation must be carried
out and apply in engineering to solve problems.
13. Provide adequate knowledge on all statically determinate and statically indeterminate
beams by recognizing the beam type and loading.
14. Understand the state of stresses and strains in structural components as a result of
different loading conditions.
15. Provide adequate knowledge of engineering properties of soil & mechanism of stress
transfer in two phase systems.
16. Aware of the various construction techniques, practices and the equipment needed for
different types of construction activities.
17. Demonstrate the basics of industrial structures construction and their utility.
18. Adopt the suitable equipment in the mechanized construction towards speedy completion
of civil engineering projects.
19. Impart the knowledge on various stages of works involved in planning, designing and
execution of protected water supply system to a town/city.
20. Fix the physical, Chemical and biological characteristics different source of water.
21. Participated in at least one contest outside the repute college/institute.
22. Be aware of scopes for higher studies and competitive exams
S.No At the end of Sixth Semester Students should be able to
1. Have knowledge on statically determinate and indeterminate structure.
2. Analyze the indeterminate structures for internal forces by theorem of three moments,
slope deflection method and Moment distribution method.
3. Knowledge in the design of beams, slabs, column and footing mainly in accordance with
Limit state method.
4. Underline the design principles of RC members for shear, bond, and torsion.
5. Evaluate the design of airport, cost estimation and geometric design of airports.
6. Exposure to fundamentals of concepts in railway design and various terms in harbor
engineering and its classification.
7. Design and draw the RCC structures and steel structure
8. Understand the reinforcement details from the drawing
9. Impart the basic knowledge on various stages of works involved in planning, designing
and execution of underground drainage system for a town/city.
10. Design the geometric design and analysis in highway alignment and Illustrate the highway
materials and construction practice.
11. Carry out soil investigation for any civil engineering construction and solve them.
12. Impart basic knowledge in planning, designing and analysis for all reinforced concrete
structural elements
13. Impact of civil engineering solutions in a global, economic and environmental context.
14. Gone through inplant training for at least 2 weeks per year.
S.No At the end of seventh Semester – Students should be able to
1.
Assess the seismic and dynamic loading problems in civil engineering structures.
2. Familiarity in taking quantity survey, Rate analysis and valuation for buildings and other
structures.
3. Identify the different failure modes of steel structural elements and compute their design
strengths and to select the most suitable section shape and size.
4. Carryout project with own planning, analyzing and designing of various civil structures.
S.No At the end of all the Semesters
1. 100% students should have secured all clear in semester examinations
2. Class Advisor’s should make sure that at least 50% of their students are participating in
every programme/Course organized by the department.
3. Be aware of scopes for higher education and research work.
4. To start the own business practices with professional ethics.
