Aims: Create a cohesive text with a variety of sentence types, incorporating research in an information report text type structure.

Objectives: Students will:


 Finish gathering information on their festival
 Write an introduction, clear headings, full sentences and a conclusion
 Use a mixture of simple, compound and complex sentences.

5 mins  Scategories: A-Z is written in a column on two sides of the board. 2x markers
 The class is divided into 2
 When the timer starts, each team must fill out their side of the board with countries or cities
starting with each letter of the alphabet
 The team with the most letters filled out at the end of the time limit, or the team who finishes
the alphabet first, wins.

15mins  Recap of last lesson- ask ss where they are up to Individual School Laptops
 Make clear that this will be handed in at the end of the lesson
 Give direction for 10 mins: ss are to complete missing elements of their research. T will check
in at the end of the 10 mins for re-orientation.
5 mins  If needed, ss who have not finished their research will pair with someone who has finished Pair

20 mins  Remind ss of informative report structure. Go through potential headings and expectations of

 If ss finish early, they can work on the design of their pamphlet
