Terms and Provisions

The Malaysia BIM Contest 2018 (“Contest”) is organised (“Organisers”) by


Glodon Malaysia, BuildingSMART Malaysia, RICS, and BIM Institute of
Malaysia located at Glodon Malaysia Training Centre, 100.6.031, 129
Offices, Jaya One, 72A, Jalan University, 46200 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
The Contest will be held on 15 August 2018 (for university participants)
and 16 August 2018 (for industrial professionals). By participating in the
Contest, each participating team (“Team”) unconditionally accepts and
agrees to comply with and abide by these Terms and Conditions and the
decisions of the Organizers, which shall be final in all respects.
1. The Contest
1.1. The Contest aims to identify the Building Information Modelling
(“BIM”) application for Quantity Surveying (“QS”) profession in
Malaysia construction industry.
1.2. Promoting effectiveness and efficiency with inventive technology
application in the industry. Modelling the recommended practices
and lead the industry with innovative change towards greater BIM
implementation.

2. Registration & Participation


2.1. All Participating Teams shall register their participation by 2 May
2018. Confirmation of registration will be notified through email.
Only the registered team members who have completed the
Contest will receive the certificates of participation.
2.2. Each university is limited to three (3) teams which consist of four
(4) student and one (1) supervisor.
2.3. Each company can only form two (2) groups which consist of two
(2) participants (QS/Architect/Engineer) and each team must have
one (1) QS member.
2.4. The definitive cut-off date for replacement of registered Team
members shall be three weeks before the date of the actual
competition. The Team is required to write to the Organiser for
such a request and to submit the new name list.
2.5. Each Team is required to attend trainings provided by Glodon
Malaysia. For university participants, the Team should attend the
training and practicing sessions at Glodon Malaysia Training Centre
to gain ten (10) percent of Contest participation marks. Where
industry professionals may attend or who attended trainings will
be eligible to participate the Contest.
2.6. Each Team Leader should refer to the Google Form link below and
register for trainings https://goo.gl/forms/v6AEJEmCZzoD4ubE2.
In reference to training schedule attached in the registration form,
participating Teams to choose which session of “TAS & TRB” and
“TBQ” training for registration. Training registration confirmation
will be notified through email. Glodon Malaysia Service Team
reserves all right to cancel or postpone any training sessions.
2.7. The participating Teams are encouraged to practice project
modelling at Glodon Training Centre upon request with Glodon
Malaysia Service Team. Practicing sessions would held at Glodon
Training Centre during the other training days stipulated in the
training schedule provided. Glodon Malaysia Service Team
reserves all right to cancel or postpone any practicing sessions.
2.8. Each Team should submit the practicing project model or any
projects model for the prequalification to final (“Prequalification”).
Organisers will evaluate the submitted projects with
Prequalification judgement criterions stated below. For university
participants, the submitted project will be evaluated and marks
will be given for the other ten (10) percent of Contest participation
marks. For industry professionals, the submitted project will be
evaluated and identify qualification for the final.
2.9. The Organiser reserves the right to reject any Participant who does
not meet the eligibility criteria.
2.10. The Organiser reserves the right to perform verifications by any
means it finds necessary of the identity and details of the
participating Teams.
2.11. The Organiser reserves the right to cancel and/or modify the terms
and conditions, at any time, during the competition.
