Look at the paragraph you wrote and check the following:

1. Did you indent? Yes No


2. Did you stay within the margins? Yes No
3. Read your paragraph to yourself. Have you left out any words? If you did,
insert them now.
4. Did you use a variety of verbs? Yes No
5. Write the first word in every sentence below. Then check the list for any
repeating words. Did you start several sentences the same way? Change
your paragraph so that each sentence starts in a different way.

Now read your paragraph to another student, your peer-editor. Ask him or her to

Peer-Editing
Give your paragraph to your peer-editor. It is now the editor’s responsibility
to use a different coloured pen to mark corrections directly onto the paper.

Note to the editor: Change grammar and punctuation errors with pen on
the paper. However, if you think there is a spelling error, simply circle it. It
is the author’s responsibility to look up the word and correct the error.
