Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.

For before the lesson, I’ll review all of the questions that are going to be in the Kahoot!, and make sure
they know the correct answers before the game starts.
Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):
☐ Assess prior knowledge ☐ Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) ☐ To illuminate common
misconceptions ☒ Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of differentiation and
mastery for ALL students) ☐ Summative assessment of content knowledge ☒ Test preparation
☐ Survey/Poll ☐ Discussion starter ☒ “Homework” collection ☐ Other (please explain):

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity: This activity will last about 10 minutes. The
children will have their clickers to answer the questions that the teacher projects up on to the screen for the
class to see. This activity has 8 questions, and the activity allows one minute for each question. Once the
question is answered, the teacher will move on to the next question.

Type of questions/prompts used in this activity (check all that apply):
☒ Multiple choice ☐ Multiple select ☐ True/False ☐ Yes/No
☐ Short open-ended response or fill-in the blank ☐ Longer open-ended response

If you are unable to provide a working sample of your questions, please list them below (8-10):

Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?

☒ Yes ☐ No
☐ Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)
Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions and
display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
☐ Yes
☒ No
Why or why not?
This activity will assess what the students know and what they don’t know.
Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity?
After the activity is done, the teacher will look to see how each child has done and then decide whether or
not to take it as a grade. Then the students will go over the questions to the activities again.
How will the data be used? The teacher will review the data of each individual student and then see if it can
be marked down as a quiz grade depending on how the class did as a whole. The teacher can send these
scores home with them or put them where the parents can access them so they can track their progress.

Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.

My personal learning goal for this activity includes learning how to successfully use the clickers with a
classroom of 22 students.

Reflective Practice: This activity was useful because it allowed me to assess their progress of knowledge with
the life cycle of a butterfly. If I used this as an introductory tool for a unit, I would have added pictures to the
questions that correlated with the correct answer. To extend the lesson, I would go outside with my class to
let them see what adult butterflies look like and see if we could find any other stages of the butterfly life
cycle.
