Teenage pregnancy is a condition of being pregnant of adolescence who’s aged
12 -19, which can begin when a girl has her first menstrual. Some of the causes of early
pregnancy among teenagers are lack of education especially sexual education, poverty,
undergraduate, or problem with their family. Teenage pregnancy is one of the major
factors that affect the population growth in our country which is the Philippines.Teenage
pregnancy has been a worldwide issue that needs to be confronted to mitigate the
problems of maternal adolescent childbearing, especially in the third world countries.

In our country, Philippines is the third highest rate of early teenage pregnancy
among youths aging 12-19 years old compare to our neighboring countries. Teenage
mother has a little information and experiences compared matured ones. Mostly,
teenage parents have less capacity to raise a family because they lack of education and
hardly provide basic necessity for their family. With these reasons, growth in poverty
cases also increases and these factors affect our economy.

Our country made a solution to prevent this kind of issue, which is the “birth
control” and awareness about the factors that may happen to their life once they tried to
get pregnant in their early age and that is supported by DEPED. Another way of
preventing is that having a good guidance, by the guardians of the teenager’s life but if
you have the right choices and proper guidance around you; it would be the best advice
to not take the chances of getting pregnant as a teenager. Teens are not fully ready to
become adults; they do not know what their responsibility as a teenage parent. The
guidance in life is the most important thing to do to prevent and avoid this early
pregnancy so that these will less the social issues that we have.

This study explored the motivations for ‘planned’ teenage pregnancy among
those facing poverty and disadvantage in Philippines. As a result, the findings advance
our understanding of the motivations for teenage parenthood and have important policy
implications for the Teenage Pregnancy Strategy. For instance, regarding how
‘planning’ is viewed by policy makers. The voice of the young person who ‘planned’ their
pregnancy is one that has not been heard before.

Despite the numerous elements that can influence teen pregnancy, for many
teenagers, the lack of sex education from schools, parents, or otherwise is the root
cause of teenage pregnancy. Generally, teenagers are not taught regarding the means
of birth control and how to respond with friends who compel them into having sexual
intercourse before they are prepared. For this is the will of God, our sanctification that
you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of us know how to control our own
body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the People who do not know
God. So we must prevent and have awareness about “Teenage Pregnancy”.

CONCEPT PAPER: Social Causes of Suicide

INTRODUCTION

Suicide is an act of killing one’s own life. It is one of the biggest issues that are
society facing right now. Suicide is a multi-dimensional phenomenon which has different
meanings among adolescents. But then suicide is defined by many factors and a deep
understanding of this issue is necessary for prevention and rehabilitation for those
people who attempt suicide.

Stress, depression, and problems like about family, studies and financial are one
of the social causes of attempting suicide. Not all people who die by suicide have been
diagnosed with a mental illness and not all people with a mental illness attempt to end
their lives by suicide. Most people who think about suicide never make a "serious"
attempt at it, but sometimes there are people who really make suicide just because they
feel so much pain that they can’t cope with it. For every attempted suicide, there is
thought to be one or more people where the thought of suicide has never translated into
an actual attempt. In most communities, the health care system is also not well-
equipped to deal with the magnitude of the problem or the specific needs of a person
who is suicidal.
METHODS
Our Senior High School teacher gives me a permission to do a concept paper. I,
the researcher makes a research about the Social Causes of Suicide because that is
the topic that I have chosen. I, the researcher who conduct a study about the factors
about suicide. In making a concept paper it will take some time, but then it is not that too
difficult for me to do this because I have the experience of making a concept paper. This
concept paper was given last October 10 year 2018 and will be submitted on the
October year 2018.

Questions:

1. What are the social causes of attempting/committing suicide?

There are many social causes or factors that a person commits suicide.
One of the examples are depression, stress and problems about heartbreak,
family, studies and financial problems.

2. Why do people commit/attempt suicide?

Because some people can’t cope with the problems that they have or they
encounter lots of problems and sometimes they feel hopeless like they want to
end their life.

3. Is suicide a good solution for any problems that you may have?
Definitely No, you may be confusing that feel true for thoughts which are
true. There is a difference! Just because you feel hopeless doesn't mean that life
and your situation are truly hopeless. But then suicide is not really the solution
because

4. Who is at greatest risk of suicide?

No one is 100% immune to mental health conditions that can raise the risk
of suicide. People who are experiencing depression are at risk for suicide. It can
come with general depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and
bipolar disorder. It can come with a number of other mental health conditions.
Teens and young adults can experience emotions with greater intensity since
their brain is not fully developed until the mid-20’s and may have difficulty
regulating their thoughts and feelings within a range they can tolerate.

5. Do people attempt suicide to prove something or to get sympathy?

No, a suicide attempt should never be ignored and it is a warning that
something is terribly wrong. Most people who attempt suicide are not 100%
certain they want to die, they just want their pain and suffering to end. It isn’t to
try and get someone to feel bad for them, that's usually the last thing they would
want.
CONCLUSION

Even though others may commit suicide because of their problems but then this
issue or suicide needs prevention.

So, attempting suicide is not really the right solution for every problem that we
are facing. You must learn how to control your temper and emotional feelings so that
you can easily cope up with your problems, and also for you to avoid commit/attempt
suicide. Overall, Committing suicide is not the solution to surpass our struggles in life
and according to the Book Of God, Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you”
Declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope
and a future.”
