PREFACE
Our theme for this year IMSTC is MASQUERADE which is Maximizing Service
Quality in Healthcare Department. As described in UUD 1945 explains that health is human
rights and in subsection 28H described that everyone has the rights to live well and healthy
and get a good healthcare service. In order to complete the Rencana Pembangunan Jangka
Panjang Nasional (RPJP-N) 2005 – 2025 aims to produce qualified human resources that can
compete internationally as well as in healthcare department. Many studies suggest that
qualified service in healthcare department is a key to achieve nation’s health development,
but according to WHO in 2006 was said that Indonesia is one of the 57 countries that was
facing crisis in healthcare department. According to Kementrian Kesehatan shows that in
20th March 2014, there were only 95.976 doctors registered working in healthcare
department, that means every doctor is equal to 2.538 people. This indicated that there is a
need to develop healthcare department in Indonesia. Not only the lack of healthcare
professionals, but also the need to reduce medical errors are very important in Indonesia.
Medical errors can be described as misdiagnosis, inaccurate therapy, etc. These errors are
supposed to be prevented by health workers, and everyone that is involved in order to
improve the nation’s health. Through this theme we hope that AMSA-Indonesia and all that
is involved can help to improve the service quality in healthcare department in Indonesia and
improve the nation’s health.
