M. away from cliffs
• Prior tapping into a power supply line, check electrical connections and layouts to avoid possible short
circuit connections
• Wire size or wire diameters must be checked to avoid possible overload of the electrical system.
PROJECT BILLBOARD / SIGNBOARD
• Billboards must be of standard size and formats as specified on the provided plan
• Billboards / Signboards shall be positioned visible to passing pedestrians and vehicles.
OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH PROGRAM

shall be cleared
• In areas outside of the grading limits of cuts and embankments, stumps and non-perishable solid objects
shall be cut-off not more than 150mm above the ground line.
STRUCTURE EXCAVATION
• Prior beginning of excavation, contractor shall check for possible embedded utilities coordinating with
LGU
• Prior structure excavation, provision of batter boards is required with height of at least 60 cm from NGL
provided leveled and shall be at right angle on every corner
• Foundation depth and wall footing depths / dimension shall be in conformity to the provided plans.
EMBANKMENT – FROM BORROW
• Embankment materials shall be provided as approved by the Project Engineer and must be accepted in
accordance with the contract and which can be compacted in a manner approved in this item
• Lines and grades must be determined prior embankment
• Embankment and backfills must be free from deleterious matters
• Embankment will be compacted in satisfy density requirement.
SITE DEVELOPMENT
• Boundary of the project or affected area(s) must be predetermined to avoid encroachment prior
clearing
• Lines and grades as provided by the plans must be observed during the excavation and embankment
period
• Deleterious materials shall be removed from the area, all surface objects and all trees, stump, roots, and
other protruding obstructions, not intended to remain shall be cleared
• In areas outside of the grading limits of cuts and embankments, stumps and non-perishable solid objects
shall be cut-off not more than 150mm above the ground line.
STRUCTURAL CONCRETE
• This item shall be in conformity to specifications stipulated on the DPWH Standard Specifications for
Highways, Bridges and Airports. Concrete class shall conform specifications provided on the plan
• Prior casting of concrete, verify dimensions (cross section and height) of the member intended to be
casted
• Check placement, spacing & bar diameter of the reinforcements prior concrete casting, quantity
intended for a structural member shall be in conformity to specifications provided in the plan
• Concrete shall be placed as near as possible to its final position to prevent segregation, concrete shall
not be dropped more than 1.5 M
• Vibration shall be sufficient duration to provided thorough compaction of cement and shall be done 15
to 16 second interval on a structural member, vibration more than specified is not advisable
• Concrete should be cured immediately after final placement, specifically during the first 7-days
• Removal of Forms and Falseworks shall commence when concrete has attained the desired compressive
strength
• Minimum time for curing and removal shall be as follows; provided no load will be applied on the
structural member
Before reaching 80% of its desired strength.
TYPES OF STRUCTURE MIN. TIME
Centering, Girders, Beams, Frames 14 days
Walls 1 day
Column 2 days
REINFORCING STEEL (DEFORMED)
• Grade of reinforcing steel shall be conformity to the specifications stipulated on the plan
• Reinforcement shall be free from dirt, detrimental rust, loose scale and other foreign materials
• Structural member’s reinforcement shall be placed and spaced in accordance to plans and specifications
• Splicing shall be in conformity plan, lap splice will be placed as to satisfy sufficient minimum clear
distance of 1/3 the maximum size of coarse aggregates between the splice and nearest adjacent bars
