RemoveWAT v2.2.5.

2 (x86/x64) by Hazar
Build Date: March 02, 2010

All Windows 7 versions are supported.

Windows Server 2008 R2 Editions supported.

NOT FOR VISTA/ORIGINAL SERVER 2008

Fully protects against WAT, and disables trial time bomb in evaluation ISOs.

RemoveWAT removes WAT (Windows Activation Technologies) completely from the OS,
whilst still retaining OS genuine status and receiving all updates.

You will still pass the genuine check (WGA).

Disables activation completely but does nothing to the validation.

There will be no windows activation section in control panel.

Windows Activation Technologies will be gone.

No slmgr, no nags, no prompts.

This does not activate like a loader, it removes activation.

Patch can be applied at ANY point, before/after trial expires.

It has no effect on rearms.

Works on unicode systems

Silent mode with /s switch
No reboot neccessary
Applies a watermark patch. Use additional one included if this is not effective.
All languages
Renames slmgr on x86/x64
UI tweaked slightly
Restore Windows Activation Technologies option

IMPORTANT:
DOWNLOAD UPDATES AND INSTALL BEFORE PATCHING YOUR SYSTEM, OR SLIPSTREAMING
RemoveWAT INTO AN ISO, AS SOME DO NOT INSTALL WITH THE PATCH INSTALLED.

The uninstaller in this version will clean up all previous versions, and the
installer will do the same so either way it will work.

READ the NOTES below!

---------------------

NOTES:

If you come across an update (ie: SP1) that you cannot install, just restore
Windows activation, install the update, then run RemoveWAT again.

----------------------------

IF YOUR SYSTEM HAS ALREADY EXCEEDED THE TRIAL PERIOD:

Set BIOS clock back so you are back in trial period, then run RemoveWAT.
Then set the clock to the correct date again.

----------------------------

To run silently, use /s

It will reboot your system so place at end of setup if you are integrating it.

----------------------------

TO INTEGRATE INTO DVD:

SLIPSTREAM AS MANY UPDATES AS POSSIBLE FIRST

Create this directory structure on your DVD:

7files\sources\$OEM$\$$\SETUP\SCRIPTS\

Create a batch file inside the SCRIPTS folder called "SETUPCOMPLETE.CMD"

Add these lines to setupcomplete.cmd:

%~dp0RemoveWAT.exe /s
exit

Copy RemoveWAT into the scripts folder.

Silent switch only for $OEM$

----------------------------

Windows 7 Watermark problems:

How it works:
RemoveWAT disables software protection/licensing entirely from the OS, removing
checks/nags from the OS, with some tweaks to fool MS into thinking its in trial
mode.

RemoveWAT blocks Windows access to various Windows Activation Technologies files,

to render them unusable by the operating system (about as good as deleted).

Then RemoveWAT changes a registry entry called DigitalProductId in

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion] to trick
MGADIAG.

This works because when it finds an invalid product key, the result is null or "0",
and strangely enough, MGADIAG interpets "0" as "genuine".

A similar result can be accomplished through several other methods, such as

removing the DigitalProductId4 value altogether, swapping DigitalProductId and
DigitalProductId4, or even with hacking of the Software Licensing WGA API or
Software Licensing Client DLL.

Tricking Windows into believing it is genuine, and tricking MGADIAG are completely
separate things.

There are no registry changes that can make Windows genuine.

DLL reassembly is the only way to genuinize Windows without a valid product key.
