CHAPTER 4

RESULTS AND ANALYSIS

4.1 Introduction

This chapter discussed the results of bitumen penetration grade 60/70 prepared with addition of
natural rubber latex as an additive on bitumen. The analysis from the testing was carried out to
compare between the control bitumen and bitumen with the concentration of 3%,4%,5% and 6%
addition of latex.

4.2 Aggregate Impact Value

Performance of Aggregate Impact Value is to measure resistance to sudden impact or shock,

which may differ from its resistance to gradually applied compressive load. To be more
specified, aggregate impact value test was conducted to determine the toughness of the
aggregate, which mean the aggregates should have sufficient toughness to resist their
disintegration due to impact. Table 4.1 shows the results obtained from the aggregate impact
value test and Table 4.2 shows the comparison between the values obtained Aggregate impact
values with JKR specifications.
