PRACTICUM EXPERIENCE
State Representative Ramon Romero Office: Intern August 2018-November 2018
 Point of contact for constituents in office that specializes in serving the community, former prisoners, veteran’s,
business and industries, Spanish speakers and any other issues or concerns community members may have.
 Researching and writing research paper on legislation regarding mental health issues inside the Department of
Justice prison system
 Attended neighborhood association and town-hall meetings

West Library: Intern August 2018-November 2018


 Worked in Special Collections, Digitization, Reference, Periodicals, and Tech Service.
 Studied and learned about the Library’s website and social media pages to better understand the history of the
library to better serve staff, faculty, and the students.

Research Methods Spring 2017


Completed comparative research student on Religion and Science. Proved two hypotheses with confidence interval of
95% that those who were very religious and attend church regularly are less likely to believe in or agree with science and
scientific data, and that Republicans are more likely to favor religion over scientific data.

Political Science Study Abroad Summer 2017


The Political Science, History and Paralegal departments travelled to Western Europe in the May of 2017, travelling to 5
countries in 2 weeks learning about history and government of each country. We visited many famous, historic sites
including Auschwitz in Poland, the site of the Nuremburg Trials in Germany and the International Court of Justice in The
Netherlands. The group was tasked with keeping journals or writing papers of our experiences, what we learned and what
these historic places meant to us and our majors.

 Responsible for managing organization including, leading bi-weekly meetings, recruiting members,
and working with various vendors.
 Created and managed events including, the Marine Corps Birthday Run, Veteran’s Day Luncheon,
and an SVO Grad Dinner.
 Collaborated with professors, public speakers and other organizations, on and off campus.

 Assisted in planning events honoring the Marine Corp Birthday, Veteran’s Day and other Veteran’s
on campus.
 Helped run meetings by taking notes and contacting veteran’s on campus to attend and get

reference.
