[Description]

When turning on the power, [EVER +5.6V] is output from PWB. Then, [EVER +5V] is supplied to CPU
IC901(9,41,58,74) on DVD board. Also, Red LED for Stand-by is illuminated. At the same time,
[RESET signal] is output from PWB IC904(5). CPU IC901(34) is input to [RESET Pulse].

[Description]

In Stand-by Mode, CPU IC901 detects "IC901(91)" from Remote [SIRCS signal] Input and Key Input
Signal "IC901 (80,82)" from Playback button and OPEN/CLOSE button of main unit. Under the status, if
Wake-up input is recognized, unit moves into Operating Mode. In Operating Mode, [P.CONT1 signal]
"IC901(41)" output is input to "Q908","Q906" and "Q909" of PWB and [13V] and [6.5V] are output. At
the same time, Red LED in Power SW for Stand-by display goes out.

[Description]

When the power is turned "ON", data is transmitted from CPU IC901(53,54,56,66) to FL DRIVER
IC802(61,62,63). Model name (DAV-S500) is displayed on Fluorescent Tube. Then, the last function
mode backed up with CPU IC901 when the power is turned off is set and displayed on Fluorescent tube.
If the last function is DVD function, [DVDPW output] IC902(11) is input to PWB Q911 and [DVD3.3V]
is supplied to DVD circuit.

[Description]

Sled motor driver IC401(29, 30,31,32) output rotates sled motor according to Servo DSP IC302(198, 199)
output from Mute signal IC103(48) from Syscon and let OP block move to the most inner radius. The
movement to the most inner radius is detected with Servo DSP IC302(166) using Limit In Switch Input.
When OP block moves to the most inner radius, let it back slightly to outer. Even if OP block is at the
most inner radius, sled operating to get back to outer is performed. If no sled operating is performed, it
doesn't move to next operating.

AV decoding part consists of 16MSDRAM IC504, IC505 and AV DECORDER IC503. After decoding,
Opening screen is output from Video output terminal. Opening screen data is stored in ROM IC107 or
IC108. It is output to AV decoder IC503 via serial bus. Then COMP OUT IC503(80), Y OUT IC503(74)
and C OUT IC503(77) are output.

[Description]

Mechanical switch detects Tray position and inputs to IC103(56,57).

If Tray is open, Loading Motor Driver IC401(24,25) output rotates Loading motor according to [Servo DSP output]
IC302(176,177) and [Control Signal] IC302(200) and closes Tray to set to loaded status.
If Tray doesn't close within a specified period (ca. 2 sec.), it moves to Open status, reversing motor.
If Tray operating doesn't complete within a specified period, Tray control stops, leaving the status as it is. In this case,
Operating status (OPEN/CLOSE) when stopped is displayed.

[Description]

It detects the presence or absence of discs. If the amount of reflection lights is enough, it rotates a disc and starts data
reading. If Focusing is not successfully performed, Focusing search operation is repeated several times, changing search
point.
Disc discrimination becomes available by detecting Mirror time.<br>
If the reflection light from a disc can't be detected with OP block, it is judged there is no disc and "NO DISC" is displayed.
