DENR trains employees on Document Tracking System

The regional office of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR),
based here is set to implement a computer-based document tracking system in a bid to
manage incoming and outgoing communications and to have an efficient data
management toward improved and transparent delivery of public service.

This came in the wake of an orientation held on January 21, 2014 which was participated
in by select employees from different offices in the region. The participants were trained
on computer installation and application of the said tracking system.

OIC-Regional Executive Director DatuTungkoSaikol lauded the organizers in coming with


a training that would speed up the processing and tracking of office documents. “This
system is integral to work.With this, we will reduce the use of papers and we can easily
locate documents. We are looking forward to the new initiative, and our ability to better
adapt to emerging technologies,” Director Saikol said.

DATS is a web-based Integrated Management System that works faster and more
productive while maintaining compliance with the office standards. It can keep track of all
types of tasks, actions and financial transactions inone central cooperative system.

“The new system will be used not only for document location monitoring, report generation
but also can view budget balance and manage annual budget, all in real time,”said Mr.
Cornelio Griño, a Programmer and System Analyst and trainer.

Moreover, Jennifer A. Trajico, DENR XII’s Management Information Systems (MIS)


SectionChief, said that the DATS must be in place the soonest possible time. “The system
is user friendly and has a flexible platform that can adapt to the needs of the office. The
management shall see to it that the participants will apply what they have learned in their
respective offices,” Trajico disclosed.

4TH QUARTER MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE
More than 70 officials composed of division chiefs and section chiefs from regional office, Mines and
Geosciences Bureau (MGB), Environmental Management Bureau (EMB), PENROs and CENROs
recently convened during the 4th Quarter Management Conference in General Santos City.
The conference aimed to review and assess the physical and financial performance of the region vis-

a- vis the targets for the year 2018.


Headed by Regional Executive Director Nilo B. Tamoria, he further laid down concerns, strategies and
