8/23/2018 VoiceThread & Kurzweil PD w/Lauren
Turnout – 15 staff
Teachers/staff were able to ask questions at the end, which helped a lot
(individual questions allowed for the teachers to feel more at ease)
Future – Create a sample (complete one); check out the program
closely – the classes were not the correct ones on BCPS and had to
put a ticket in; Create a certificate for those that completed

9/17/2018 In 5 grade CIA – Xtra Math PD
Brought results with me regarding what the teacher results look like.
Popped in during my planning time, which made the time aspect of Ely’s
condition of change much more manageable.
Showed each teacher how to set their class up – discovered a problem
regarding giving numbers and explained how to solve it for the teacher
who teaches double math.
Future – create and send out a cheat sheet of the features of Xtra
Math
9/26/2018 In 4th Grade CIA – Xtra Math PD
Showed my teammate how to sign up for Xtra Math and what the results
looked like.
Cut short due to ELA data and planning a lesson
Future – Plan a back-up time wise, maybe a webinar or a screencast
plan so that the PD can happen asynchronous due to scheduling
conflicts

10/3/2018 In 3 Grade CIA – Xtra Math PD
Quick pop-in to check for any problem solving due to teaching the
teachers how to sign-up previously so that they can start right away and
not wait until October.
Future – Have the teachers share some of their data with
administration. Bring a certificate example printed to show what it
will look like (got this question from one teacher who had a really
difficult time visualizing).
10/9/2018 Xtra Math Cheat sheet – after delivering the PDs in CIA regarding
XtraMath, people asked for a cheat sheet to outline the different
elements of XtraMath. Grades 2-5 used this resources and began
printing certificates and some even altered a few students’ programs so
that they can find more success.
Future – email a copy to the math action team so that they can
deliver to their teams in a more efficient manner

10/10/2018 2 Grade CIA – Xtra Math PD
Didn’t get written into the agenda and had other important events pop
up during my planning. Wasn’t able to present during the CIA.
Future – meet up with 2nd grade at another time to check-in
regarding Xtra Math.
**Update – able to meet with all of the teachers separately and got
them signed up for Xtra Math. Made sure to remind them to look at the
Cheat Sheet on Schoology that I posted on 10/9
10/16/2018 Feedback Forum Data tracking – shared a data tracking resource through
Schoology group for the staff.
STAT teacher also copied and shared through her DIP Day PD Day.
Received 2 likes on the post and multiple copies by staff. 4 teachers
made use of the feedback tracking sheet that month.
Future – maybe copy one and put into mailboxes for each teacher.

10/18/2018 1 Grade CIA – Xtra Math PD
Not necessary, since we changed it so 1st grade will not start Xtra Math
until after winter break.
11/19/2018 Hour of Code – 1 staff for STEM Night to co-teach together
Created a certificate for the staff member
I loved that she was hesitant to do Hour of Code with me, but willing to
step up so that I had more hands to lend during the STEM Night activity.
She ended up with a clear passion for coding by the end and a plan to
implement in her classroom at times.
Before – No one was willing to learn the coding from the Math Action
Team, due to their lack of comfort with technology (their words)
Future – record a student using it so that others can have an idea
what it would entail since so many have no clue about coding
11/21/2018 Answer Garden, DotStorming, Voci, Powtoons w/STAT
This professional development was held before school and got a very
positive outcome. I provided breakfast and cupcakes, which people
were really appreciative of and did wonders at getting staff to show. 11
people RSVP’d for the PD and 10 showed. We provided a hand-out,
which had the resources listed with some other details about them. We
provided time for people to explore each one and also ask questions as
they arose.
The feedback was very positive from this PD and each member got a
certificate to keep for their own records of Domain 4.
Future – plan more PDs with incentives and advertise more,
especially with cupcakes/baked goods 😊
