Hotel Industry Analysis

Hotel industry in Pakistan represents a very gloomy picture in today’s scenario where
there is an economic and political instability in the country. After the Mumbai attacks in
India, the hotel industry in Pakistan had also experienced the adverse affect on the
business. Many hotels across the country give special discounts in the family and
individual functions. Due to the high recession in the country, like other businesses, hotel
industry also downsizing the employees by reducing their wages, however it is difficult
for the owners of the hotels to retain their staff.

After the political and economic crises, the 5-stars hotels across the country faced the
serious problems like room occupancy that reduces the scope of their business. For the
same reason the visitors around the world, did not want to visit Pakistan that results in the
damage of hotel business. Moreover, the demand of our local goods became less in
Europe and United States customers. For the security reasons, the foreign ministers and
other foreign delegations did not prefer to meet in any hotel; they arranged their meetings
in the bungalow or the respective office.
