We know the major causes of drug addiction are the lack of attention from parents and family.
To prevent this problem from being further prolonged, the parents should pay attention and
guidance to their children during adolescence. This is consistent with the theory of motivation,
Maslow (1954) that reflects the hierarchy of needs theory of motivation. Based on this theory,
love is placed at the third stage in which to give the impression that the appreciation and
affection is very important to the people especially the youth level. These include the desire of
love from their parents. If parents are not giving enough love to their children, the children will
find the love of others.

Through the role of school

Establishing the Drug-free Schools with provide a comprehensive drug prevention education
through curricular and co-curricular activities in schools and institutions of higher learning,
intervention, teacher training and parental involvement. Drug prevention education is an
important element in prevention strategies and schools are important institutions for the delivery
of Malaysian society that is free from drugs. Ministry of Education has been tasked to identify,
plan and implement all programs and activities relating to the actions of drug prevention

?revention is a long-term strategy aimed to preventing a person from being involved with drugs.
Although a drug problem begins with an individual problem but if left unchecked it will affect
the entire surrounding community. Drug problem closely related to the problems of crime,
terrorism, security and HIV / AIDS in any one area. Therefore all the people should create
awareness on the effects and dangers of drugs as well as stimulate the involvement of the local
community in the fight against drugs. Every individual, family and all community should have
take part in the prevention of drug abuse and ensuring their area clean of the drug phenomenon.
Local community leaders also should come forward to assist the government in particular the
National Anti-Drugs Agency in implementing drug prevention programs in their area. Long-term
strategy is also to create awareness to all levels of society that the drug would bring harm to
themselves, their families and communities. Thus, in addressing the drug problem, community
volunteer involvement is needed. Among the areas that need attention in addressing maslaah
drugs in the community are:

1. Increasing awareness of the population in one area of danger and

drug threat.

2. Raises awareness of the population one area that the drug problem
should be addressed together.

3. Increasing knowledge one area residents about the roles

can be done to address the drug problem.
4. Increased cooperation of community leaders in one area to
delete / clean the symptoms of drug abuse in their area.

Teenagers need to be wise to control yourself and be informed about the dangers of drugs. They
should be given information about the dangers of drugs. The exposure should come from parents,
school and community. They need to be guided in building their self-identity and personality.
Attention and support from all parties essential to help youth in developing self-confidence and
strength to face life full of challenges. With the existence of this power, each individual will
managed to prevent himself from these negative symptoms although it is easily and readily
available. This is considered the most effective strategy in combating drug abuse.

In addition, selecting a good partner should also be taken into account. This is because a friend
had a great influence in the formation of adolescent behavior. Good friends will lead to good
things, while a friend who has no morals will lead to the contrary.
