Information Station, IS400
SPIDER
Application
The Information Station, IS400 combines support for
dynamic updated process displays with standard Java web
browser Applet and Servlet technology.
IS400 is used by personnel that needs to access
information of the supervisory control system but not to
do any process control operations. IS400 is typically used
within the Intranet of a power company but can also be
used over Internet through Firewalls and Secure Sockets
Layer (SSL) in a secure way.

The IS400 Jakarta Tomcat web server/Servlet engine may
run in a dedicated server working with a replicated copy of
the Avanti real-time database.
IS400 is easily adapted to specific needs of a utility by use
of standard web technology.
The screen snapshot above shows the layout of IS400 with
a single-line diagram inside the Internet Explorer web
browser. Any web browser supporting Java Applets (Java
1.2.2. or greater) can be used with the SPIDER IS 400 web
HMI.
Authority
By a login procedure, it is checked that the user has
permission to use the IS 400 system to view process
displays, alarm and event lists and view the content of the
Avanti database.
Process Displays
It is possible to present process displays. The selection
of a station or subsystem process display is performed
from a tree structure. Rubber band zoom in process
displays is supported. Declutter is supported in
combination with zoom. Updates are made cyclically.
