6. Verifying the Installation
SN Check Item

1 The TP48200A is installed properly on the rack and the cables are connected properly. (Cables fastened by screws
are not easily removable.)

2 Cables are arranged neatly and bound properly by using cable ties.

3 The storage battery is connected properly.

4 Take fireproof clay out of the package box that accommodates the base of the cabinet, and then seal the cabling
holes using the fireproof clay. After that, insert rubber stoppers into the idle cabling holes.

5 Check for short circuits between live wires (between L1, L2, and L3), between the live wires and the ground cable
(between any of L1, L2, and L3 and the ground bar), between the live wires and the neutral wire (between any of L1,
L2, and L3 and the N busbar), between the RTN+ and the –48 V copper bar (between the RTN+ busbar and any of –
48 V check points 1, 2 and 3). Rectify short circuits before powering on the TP48200A.

ON positions.

ON

If the battery circuit breakers are switched to the ON position but the LCD on the PMU panel remains
blank, flip the battery switch to the BAT ON position. After 2 minutes, flip the battery switch to the
Normal position to avoid battery over discharge. If the battery voltage remains low and the PMU is
disconnected again after you flip the battery switch to the Normal position, flip the battery switch to the
BAT ON position for 2 minutes after the systems connects to the mains.
BAT ON

Setting parameters on the PMU.

1. The operating keyboard and status indicator on the PMU are shown in the following figure.
2. If the TP48200A works properly and communicates normally with the communications equipment, the
ALM indicator on the PMU is off and the RUN indicator is blinking slowly. If the TP48200A works
properly but fails to communicate with the communications equipment, the ALM indicator is off and
the RUN indicator is on. If major faults occur in the TP48200A, the ALM indicator is on and the buzzer
beeps. Check and rectify the fault according to the TP48200A-X3H4 & X3H5 Maintenance Guide.
3. Press ↓ and Enter to decrease the LCD contrast when the interface works in standby mode. Press ↑
and Enter simultaneously to increase the LCD contrast.
4. On the menu setting screen, press ↓ or ↑ to browse the menus and set parameters. Press Enter on
the standby screen to access the main menu. Press Enter on the main menu to access the submenu.
After you set the submenu, press Enter to save the value. Press Cancel to return to the previous
menu without saving the value.
5. The main screen is displayed when the LCD is left unattended for five minutes and no alarm is
generated. The screen goes dark when the LCD is left unattended for eight minutes.
6. A customer password is required for accessing the Settings menu, and a Huawei engineer password
is required for accessing the Eng. Setting menu. The default customer password and Huawei
engineer password are 0# and 11# respectively. Both passwords can be changed.

1 Set the system type.

2 Set the number, capacity and installation date of battery strings.

3 Set temperature alarm parameters.

4 Set the date and time.
5 a. In out-of-band mode, when an SNMP module is configured, set the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway address
based on the address assigned by the EMS.
b. In in-band mode, when multiple power systems exist, set the device address based on the address assigned by the
communications equipment.
13
1. Set the number of battery groups, capacity, temperature alarm thresholds, time, date, and output power
according to actual conditions.
2. The number of the battery groups can be set to 0, 1, and 2. If one battery group is required, set the battery
capacity according to the fuse position. For example, if the storage batteries are connected to the BAT1, set
the battery capacity to battery capacity 1; if the storage batteries are connected to the BAT2, set the battery
capacity to battery capacity 2.This guide describes the setting of two battery groups (300 Ah).
