 8th Grade Spelling Bee
The Department of Education
commanded the nationwide celebration of 2018
National Reading Month this November with the
theme “Pagbasa: Susi sa Magandang
Kinabukasan”. It pursued different institutions to
conduct activities that will promote the love and
interest for reading.
In accordance with the above mentioned
Deped Order, Pagsanjan Integrated National
High School (PINHS), with the effort of English Department headed by Mrs. Alma B. Ramirez,
Head Teacher in English, together with the initiatives of Alma Mae G. Robles and Ms. Rhesie Lyne
F. Villanueva, conducted the 8th Grade Spelling Bee held at PPP Bldg. Room 15 on November
22, 2018.

event. Each

section was able

to present three

representatives

from their class.

The event started with a prayer, followed by a greeting of luck to all the participants.

The Spelling Bee Master, Ms. Rhesie Lyne F. Vilanueva, preseted and elaborated the

general rules of the contest. She also gave the

contest proper mechanics. The Spelling Bee was

divided into three rounds with each corresponding

points,

a. Easy (10 words, 1 point each)

b. Average (8 words, 3 points each)

c. Difficult (5 words, 5 points each)

In case of a tie, there will be tie-breaker, for

clincher round (5 points) and the winner will be

determined in a first-to-score basis.

For the Easy Round, CHRISS ANNE

CABANTOG from F. Dagohoy together with
NICOLE SACLUTI and RONALYN DIMAANO,
both from J. Rizal, led the contest with 8 points.

Then, XHERBICK BANAAG from J. Rizal

and CHRISS ANNE CABANTOG from F. Dagohoy advanced for the Average Round.
 The final round which was the Difficult Round, declared the winners who got the highest
points out of 27 participants.

The event ended with the acknowledgement of all the participants who really tried their best
for the contest and were now considered as SPELLERS.
