STEP Standard 5 - Implementation of Instructional Unit
Implement the unit you have designed. You have already implemented and analyzed the pre- assessment. In this topic, you will implement all lesson activities, correlating formative assessments and the summative post-assessment. Choose one of the lesson activities to video record a 5-10 minute segment, review, and reflect on your teaching. Have your cooperating teacher/mentor review the recording and provide feedback, if possible.

Summary of Unit Implementation:
We happen to be at the end of a unit. I created an assignment that assess the knowledge learned by each student. For this assignment the students were given a menu that allowed them to choose a number of things they could do to prove their knowledge. There were four boxes each box was worth a different amount of money and they had to choose options that equaled up to 10$. The more expensive the project the harder the project. The assignment was that they were to pick a project out of each box to do over the course of 3 days, each day working on something else. I would give them about 40 minutes each day to work on these projects casually walking around and assisting. I would also provide the materials and explain the expectation each day. Also, I would have the students set goals as bell work each day, so they would have more of a motivation to complete the assignment on time.
Summary of Student Learning:
The students were reaffirming what they knew and what we learned this past month. They were able to use their notes and pick a topic that they needed a refresher on to work with. This project also become my reworking of the material. They were able to take one topic and use it to create multiple things. Each box played on a different learning style. The first box is simple it included a textbook recreate (restating notes for a younger student), vocabulary page (pick a vocab word define and create a visual), and finally (make a quiz, it has to be 10 questions and an answer key must be present). Next the 2$ box, a song or rap, comic strip, or acrostic poem. Than you have the 3$ box is a little more difficult. It includes a social media page, a foldable, and a poster. Lastly you have the 4$ box which includes, an article, discovery ed board, and children’s book. I made it mandatory that everyone should choose something from the 4$ box. To my surprise everyone chose the children’s book. I feel that this is a good project because the students are able to demonstrate what they know by playing to their strengths rather than conforming everyone to the same assignment or taking a unit test. Reflection of Video Recording: My video shows me explaining the project, as well as multiple examples of students work. I was able to show each student working on their projects as well as the final result. I believe this project actually did pretty well and I would definitely do it again. I really like that the students are able to work on it independently. I will be able to use this in the future instead having them pick one thing and work on it for days that I need to do small groups.
