The strength of the Lesson:

 The lesson centered focus was clear for the students: “Learning the Alphabet’.
 The lesson activities were carefully structured and were appropriate to the learners’
levels. An amazing video about letters and words was prepared and used for the
students as a lesson start and the prior knowledge refreshment!
 Nawal created the PowerPoint with the lesson content.
 Some assessment techniques were in place during Nawal’s teaching. At the beginning
of the lesson, she asked the students about what did they know about letters.
 Nawal actively asked questions about using letters to monitor students’ understanding.
 Nawal provided ongoing feedback to the children to enhance their learning.
 Nawal explained the individual work assessment and was circulating around the tables
checking the students work.
Areas for Development:
 The weakness of the lesson was classroom management: the students were noisy
during the activities.
 Next time, Nawal needs to establish and maintain clear classroom rules and routines
for the classroom behavior. Nawal has to provide ongoing feedback to the children in
behalf of their behavior.
 The next weakness of the lesson was the quality of the visual resources that have been
used. Nawal used words in her PowerPoint. It was hard for most of the students to
read them.
 Next time, Nawal needs to make sure that her visual resources are on the grade level
and support the students learning outcomes. It is much better to use pictures with
words at the stage when kids are just start to learn letters and words.
