AND,,, ONLYGENERAL ELECTRIC FLASHBULBS
ARE GUARANTEED TO FLASH!
That's right all red lg! monogrammed flashbulbs
, , plus the "too-small-for-a-monogram" AG-1 & AG-1B,
. are guaranteed to flash or we'll give you four
new bulbs for one.
'Ve aren't being charitable we just know that the
new G-E flashbulbs are the finest on the market and we
are willing to back our convictions.

AND WHY NOT?

These new flashbulbs have the remarkable neu., General
Electric Rbenium Filament which makes G-E llashbulbs as
much as 3007o more flashable than others.

THE NEW RED €D MONOGRAM BUTBS ASSURE

YOU THAT
1. The lamps will flash every time . . . or you get four for one
2. They will reliably synchronize. . . even on weak batteries
3. Your llash batreries will last up to 5o7o longer
General Electric flashbulbs are not only more flashable
than orhers . . . they also provide the right amount of light
and they flash safely.
Look at the additional quality-plus featutes built into
these new bulbs:

A super thio Rhenium filamcot heats faster, even on

weakened batteries.

A special, easy firing primer makes Sure-Fire flash pic-

tures a certainty.

Bent leads keep the bulb walls free of primer blast.

You gain approximately 150% more light.

Double safety coating on every G-E bulb.

\Welded side contact carries current more efficiently.
Looks neater too.

One piece alumin'.rm base gives better electrical contact

and positive flashing.

Everyone knows that projection lamps have round bulbs
... thatis... they didhave... untilG-E engineers broke
with tradition . . . to design a family of flat faced lamps . . .
especially for the large format 8mm system.

Intcroal-reliector type 4-pin lamps were preferred for
l

the ne*' smm projectors because of their proven
elliciency,. . precision.. . and convenience features.

But . . . standard lamps o{ rhis type . . , did not adequately
illuminate the larger picture area.
A larger reflector n,oulcl correct this . . but ir would
also increase the size of the lamp and housing . . . and
aclcl more cosr. .. weight. . . and inches to the projector.

Tips 0n Using The Proiedion lomp Guide

All projection cquipment manufactured by one company is grouped by type and appli-
cation under the company name. The alphabetical listing of manufacturers begins on page 28.
l{aoy projecrors are marketed under a model or brand name which is different than tbat
of the maou{acturer. These projectors are alphabetically listed on page 27, cross referenced
to their manufacturcr.
As an aid to identiEcation, photographs of popular larnp types are provided on
p^ges 22 23.
^nd
The three-letter A. S. A. lamp code is all that is needed to completely ideotify and
order G-E Phot<rlamps. The complete listing of lamps and specifcarions on pages 21-26
is arranS;ed in alphabetical order by lamp code. For current prices see the "G-E Photolamp
Price Schedule."

Proiedion lomp Tips

Projection lamps are highly elicient light sources
designed to concentr, rte the maximum amount of lighr through a projecror's optical system.
The life rating of rhese lamps range from ten to fifty hours. Some new projection lamps, such
as rhe Gold Top "CAR", are designed wirh a fiftcen hour life rating, to provide high screen
lumens io a small lamp.
Many 500, 750 and 1000-watt projection lamps are available in both 1o and 25-hour life de-
sign. The 2 5-hour desilin is used most frequently. However, wheo maximum screen brightness
is requirecl, the 1O-hour lamp may be used in the sanre socket and projector. Lamp watrage is the
same with either the 10 or 25-hour lamp but the 1O-hour lamp puts llo/o to 15ok more light
on the screen.
In 1000-watt lamp <lesigns the 10-hour lamp is most commooly used since maximum
scrccn brightness is usually rcquired. These lamps are also available in 25-hour design where
longer life is desirable and less scrcen brightness can be tolerated.

Substiluting Higher Woltcge lomps

N{otion picture and slide projcctors are desigoed to give best cooling ancl performance with
lamps of specific wattage. The dcsign wattage will be found oo the name plate of every pro-
jector. Higher wattage lamps may result in frlm daorage, severe lamp distortion, aod eveo
possible clamage to the proiector's lenses and housing.
