Course Outline
Hernia is a very common surgical entity
and one of the commonest surgical
procedures done by general surgeons.

There is a sea change in understanding


the art and science of Hernia in the last
decade or so .Old procedures have
been modified to improve the outcome
and many new procedures have been
added in the surgical armamentarium.
New prostheses and fixating
technologies are available, which merit
evaluation and acceptance.
Course Objectives
The objective of this course is to train the surgeon,
increasing knowledge, confidence and capability in
all procedures, namely TAPP,TEP, IPOM, IPOM plus,
Paediatric hernia and gain some overview into
Component Separation Techniques and Abdominal
Wall Reconstruction. The indications, rationale,
contraindications and potential complications are
discussed in depth. Each procedure will be taught
step wise slowly, clearly and repeatedly, so that an Course
informed selection of procedure of repair can be Highlights
