Since you always need the data for reporting at least in the group currency of the
highest group in the hierarchy, case a) also leads to the situation, that you have more
than one group currency in at least one consolidation group.
Therefore we can simply say: A multi-group-currency scenario is defined by the fact,
that you have at least one consolidation group with more than one group currency.
2. Solution in EC-CS
3. Solution in SEM-BCS
a) The transaction data have to be copied as many times as new group currencies
are required.
b) The consolidation tasks of the monitor have to be executed for each group
currency separately.
As long as the tasks are to be performed with the same customizing settings, all this
can be done in one version. Only in the special case, that certain tasks should be
handled differently in the monitor, additional versions with additional customizing is
necessary.
4. Sequence of necessary activities
a) Data collection for global parameters of the closing period with the
group currency of the enterprise as group currency parameter.
b) Optionally: Data collection for the same global parameters with the
exception, that another group currency parameter is set.
c) If activity b) is not performed: Copy of transaction data to the same
setting of global parameters, but different values for the group
currency parameter. In releases < 4.0 the copy function is not available.
Therefore the upload method can be used, instead.
d) Execution of the monitor tasks for each group currency involved
separately.
The target key figure in currency translation is always the group currency, but the
source key figure can be the
a) Transaction currency
b) Local currency
c) Group currency.
If you want to use the group currency as source key figure, you have to keep in mind,
that
- SEM-BCS will only translate values up until posting level 10.
- You have to use an additional version, because the
customizing of the currency translation task is not identical.
