EYFS Reflection (Healthy and Unhealthy foods

This is my first teaching session in this school, and in this school they follow the EYFS curriculum, and it was about the healthy and
unhealthy foods because the theme of this week is about healthy and unhealthy foods, in a warm -up I played a stand up a sit-down
game so children can feel comfortable with me because it's their first time they looked at me that I will be teaching them.

In the circle time, I showed them what they are will learn in this week and they had y, w, and th sounds, 7, and 8 numbers, yellow
color, and rectangle shape in this week and then I stand beside the board to they know that I am going to write my learning
objectives and then I wrote my learning objective that they will know what foods are healthy and what foods are unhealthy an d
they repeated after me, they should know the learning objectives or targets for every day to know what they will learn day by day.

For more attraction, I asked them their prior knowledge if they know something about healthy foods and, I asked them who ate
healthy food today? And from that, I made cooperation they start talking with me it was good that they don't felt shy when th ey
were answering me. then I started to introduce the concept with showing them some fruits and vegetables were made with the
plastic for healthy foods and chocolate, burger, soda, and a cupcake that also were made with the plastic for unhealthy foods.

To encourage them during a circle time, when I finished my explanation, I played a video it's like the revision for today's l esson the
video was very nice to their level it includes some pictures of the healthy and unhealthy foods and the question was is this healthy
or unhealthy and they were answering some questions correct and some wrong.

Then I moved to the activities I explained the four activities that I created for them one was for the creativity
area, children will sort the healthy and unhealthy foods, the pictures will stick on the clothes clip and they
will clip the cards according to happy and sad face. The second activity was for math area, children will
classify the plastic foods according to their categories are they fruits or vegetables. The third activity was for
a blocks or games area, but I put a playdough instead of the blocks in this area, and children will fill the
watermelon with a playdough, I chose a watermelon because it starts with w sound and this sound was
new for them in this week. The last activity was for a literacy area, children will cut the card pictures of
healthy and unhealthy foods then they will glue it and stick it in the correct box, and I brought all
resources saved for them.

Before I end my lesson, I gave

them white papers and I
challenge them to draw five
healthy or unhealthy foods, it
was a good lesson my MST gave
me a good feedback.

IB Reflection (Animals Reflection)

This lesson is my last lesson and today also my last day in school and the children were sad because they loved me
also, I loved them. So today I taught them about the animals and because it's my last day so I made some fun in
this lesson and I want to follow the IB curriculum in EYFS school, I want students to be a thinkers and open
minded, so in warm-up I played a video about animals and it was walking in the jungle, I introduce what is the
video about and I brought four hats and four masks according to t hose animals which were in the video such as
Frog, Monkey, Toucan, and Tiger, after they watch the video I chose four children to wear hats and four to wear
the masks then we act like in the video.

To have fun while learning, I hide four children who wear masks in different places like a video and I told them that
when you listen to the sound of the animal that you wear the mask you have to come out and stand in the middle
so rest of children can see you, and then I played the video and we followed the vid eo we
all sang the song together and we moved to all animals were in the class, when we walked
near to the animal we count from one to four forward the four steps back then we
stopped to listen the sound then the animal came out, when all animals came out we
repeated all animals names so they can recognize the sound of animals and they can know
which animal is this. They were so excited and happy because they like to act like animals.

v. 2015-02-16 9
After that, I moved to the activities I created five activities for t hem one was for the math
area, the aim is to learn the counting and addition, children will create animals with the play
dough set then they will make an addition in the white paper. The second activity was for
language which is the writing area and the aim is to develop their cognitive skills, kinesthetic,
visual and learn, in this activity children will have different pictures of animals so they will
think which animal is this then they will try to write the name of that animal and then they recognize the
first sound of that name and will match with the flashcard. The third activity was for the art area and the
aim is to improve their fine motor skills by providing practice like cutting and sticking and to improve
their art skills, so children will make their own mask they will cut triangle papers for the yarns of any
animal and circle papers for the nose then they will cut the wool for animal's face then they will color the
mask. the fourth activity was for the computer, children will have the drawing page on the
computer, so they can draw their own animals then they will try to teach us their drawing and from
that, they can have a conversation between them.

v. 2015-02-16 10
And the last activity was for blocks, so children will have different colors of cubes then they will
make their own patterns and they will recognize the colors.

In the last of the session, to assess them I asked some questions during the activities with the checklist. It was the
best session for me and I got a nice feedback from my MST.
