Content

d) locating Washington, D.C., the
capital of the United States, and
Richmond, the capital of Virginia,
on a United States map; and
e) constructing simple maps,

including a title, map legend, and

compass rose.
TLED 430
Activity The teacher will introduce the app to students.
Students will have a designated amount of time to
work alone with the app. Some of the activities
that they should be doing is identifying all the
states on a map and placing them in the correct
places. There is also a quiz option where the app
will show a state and ask what it is. After the
students work alone to complete the game, they
will group up (3-4 students) and make the map in a
group. After each team member has helped
complete the map, then they will screenshot it to
use in the collaborating app. The teacher will be
available to assist and monitor the students.

The teacher will introduce the app to students. The
students will work in the group (3-4 students).
Students will use the app to the left to construct
their map and upload it to the new app. They will
be using the app to edit and draw on their map.
They are to mark the Virginia State Capital (or
whichever state they reside in), Washington DC.,
major mountain ranges, major rivers, and make a
legend or key. They should break up these
responsibilities and after one person completes
their part they will send the picture (in the app) to
the next person, send it to their next partner to
create their part, and they will send it after their
part is complete. This should be done repetitively
until each group member has completed their
responsibility. The teacher will be available for
assistance and have a map in the classroom for
reference.
