Classroom Rules and Regulations

Listed below are the expected classroom rules and regulations for my class. These
rules pertain to the use of technology and the restrictions thereof. Please read through
this document thoroughly and do not sign until our shared responsibilities
involving technology are understood.

1. All school rules apply. Please look to your student handbook or school website if
you need clarification.
2. Devices (including phones, tablets, laptops, etc.) not belonging to the school will
be used for academic purposes at the teacher’s discretion.
3. When using the school’s network to complete work, students must stay logged in
with their own credentials. Work submitted under another student or faculty
member’s credentials will be seen as plagiarism.
a. See school’s consequences for plagiarism.
4. At no point will technology (belonging to the school or otherwise) be used during
the classroom for entertainment purposes.
a. For example, if a student has finished an online, in-class assignment before their peers,
they are permitted only to review their work for errors.
5. Students may not capture or record their peers or teacher unless consent and
classroom circumstances allow.
a. Such may be the case with doing multimedia projects like scenarios or reports.
6. We will frequently be using a Web 2.0 tool called Spiral to aid with class
discussions and assessments. Students will be required to use their REAL
NAMES when creating accounts.
a. Anything submitted under a false name will be discarded, affecting the student’s grade.
7. At no point will provocation of violence or harassment be tolerated in my class. If
a student is doing or saying anything which creates a hostile classroom
environment, they will be sent to the main office.
