Goal 1 Implement the literacy placemat created by RVS into my teaching.

Timeline End of September and early October


Strategy for Explicitly teach the students about the placemat. Include the website link in my google classroom
completion under materials.
Success 1. Students know what and where the placemat is.
Indicators 2. Students use the language and terms found on the placemat.

Strategy for Apply the placemat in my own planning, including linking the language found on the placemat to
completion various activities in my plans. Collaborate with ELA teachers to find out what they are doing and
reinforce their strategies in my own planning.
Success 1. Language from the placemat is found throughout my plans.
Indicators 2. Activities are varied and are targeted specifically to a placemat dimension.
3. My plans include strategies that core ELA teachers use with the same students.

Strategy for Give student’s a copy of the placemat so that they can use it as a guide during reading assignments.
