Topic: Regional Integration

should develop your responses fully.

1. Write an essay on the topic 'Developing the agricultural industry of the Caribbean'.

First, state TWO problems within the traditional agriculture industries in many CARICOM
countries. Then identify ONE challenge facing the industry from outside the region.
Name a regional institution that has been established to assist the agriculture industry in
way or another. Give TWO reasons why CARICOM heads should make the sustainability
of the agricultural industry a priority and THREE ways in which they may bring about the
regional cooperation that will help to secure the future of the region’s agricultural
industry. State why EACH of the ways you have suggested will be successful.

2. Write an essay entitled 'Helping to make integration a reality'.

First, state TWO ways in which an individual citizen can help towards the success of
regional integration and then explain how EACH of these two ways will have a positive
impact. Next state TWO ways in which business organisations can have a role in
integration and explain how EACH one will be successful. Suggest THREE strategies for
CARICOM leaders and governments to facilitate integration and explain why you think
EACH of these would be likely to succeed.

Describe TWO difficulties that some member states may experience in meeting the

overcoming the difficulties of the CSME. Explain fully why EACH strategy suggested will
be successful. Total 20 marks

4. Begin your essay by naming TWO organizations designed to promote regional

cooperation in education. State ONE function of each of the organizations and explain
TWO ways in which Caribbean citizens benefit from regional cooperation, other than
education. Suggest THREE measures, giving full details, that the government of your
 country may take to encourage citizens to support CARICOM organizations. Explain fully
why EACH of the measures will be successful.
