Answer the following questions:
1. Describe the employee’s occupation and duties.

Plans and evaluates activities for nursing home residents. Make programs to encourage
socialization, provide entertainment, relaxation, and improve daily living skills. Also, manage
volunteer programs.

2. Describe the working conditions associated with the employee’s position (i.e.,
physical working conditions, amount of overtime required, stress level, amount of
responsibility, amount of travel required, etc.).

Work conditions associated with the employee’s position is good but some physical condition
can work back and forth between the hall. There is some travel like going to Walmart and
another place. Stress level is at a low only thing that can be stressful when the residence t is upset
or when they don't go to activities.

3. What is the employee’s educational background? What school subjects does he/she
feel would be most helpful to prepare for this position?

Only educational background she has a high diploma, some bachelor's degree, and
certification to become a nursing home activity director.

4. What does the employee find most difficult, stressful, etc. about the position?

Most stressful about the position is when people don’t come out for activities.

5. What recommendations did the employee offer to someone who is interested in


entering a similar position?

Good communication skills are the one things that the employee offer to someone who is
interested in entering a similar position.
6. What does the employee enjoy most about this position?

She enjoys the resident and their story they tell. Also, her coworker which make the job fun and
exciting.

7. In the employee’s opinion, what types of attitude and personality traits are important
in order to be successful in his/her career field?

Patience, organize, people skills, and a good listener is the types of attitude and personality
traits are important in order to be successful in his/her career field.

8. What opportunities are there for advancement in this career field?

There are no real opportunities for advancement in this career field it more person growth and
relationship building.

9. Describe this employee’s role in supervision.

Her role is not just in charge of activities but also to write notes like if they participate in
activities and see how they interact with each other.

10. What are the starting salaries and educational requirements for people who hold
positions similar to the one you are observing?

The starting salaries are between $38,404-$59,393. The education requirements for nursing
home activity director is associate's or bachelor's degree and 4,000-6,000 hours of work
experience required for certification-depending on degree level.
11. What does this company do to encourage its employees to continue their education?

No, the company don't encourage its employees to continue their education. It more a personal
choice.

12. What are some good ways for students to find out more about this career?
The best way to find out more about this career is at your local nursing home or online.
