COURSE POLICY
CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT

1. Kindly put your cell phone in silent mode during class hour/s.
2. Any word of contempt is not allowed inside the classroom.
3. 5 ‘S’ should be implemented in entering and leaving the room.
4. The following are the guidelines or action plan in class attendance monitoring:
a. A student who came after the checking of the attendance is considered late.
b. A student who came 45 minutes (for 3 hours class) after the scheduled time will be
marked absent. He/she may still attend the class but is not allowed to take the activity
on that day.
c. Three times of tardiness shall be considered one absence.
d. A student who committed two (2) consecutive absences must present a medical
certificate or a letter from his parents or guardians stating the reason of his/her absence
before he/she will be admitted to the class.
e. A student who committed three (3) consecutive absences shall be endorsed to the
department chair or guidance counselor for counseling before he/she will be admitted
to the class and will receive a verbal drop out warning.
f. A student who committed 1/3 absences of the total number of meeting shall be
dropped from the class automatically.
5. Everyone is required to speak in English.
6. All students should wear their proper uniform with their IDs.
7. All Assessment Tasks such as homework / case study / laboratory activity / project should
follow the given format. Every time that the teacher returned the papers with results, the
students should keep the papers, scan it and save it as portable file (pdf). It has to be
submitted to the teacher on Final period or earlier. (Refer to Student Portfolio)
Note: Always use short bond paper.
8. During examination or quiz, any means of communication is not allowed as well as using
any electronic gadgets. All concerns should be address to your instructor only. Once caught
he/she will receive a failing grade.
9. All students are required to follow the laboratory rules and regulations while inside the
laboratory room.
10. All students are required to check the online class (i.e. Edmodo.com) every day or a day
before the meeting. Meaning the student should have an internet connection and a
personal computer for the hands on exercises at home.

GRADING SYSTEM

1. Grading System Components.


A. Class Standing
a. The average of all experiment per term is equivalent to one quiz.
b. A practical exam is considered a quiz.
c. A laboratory activity is considered a seatwork.

B. Class Standing Components


10% – Homework/Assignment
30% – Seatwork/Laboratory Activity
60% – Quiz (Written or Practical)
100% – Total Class Standing

2. Periodical Grading
A. Prelim Grade = 50% Prelim Class Standing + 50% Prelim Exam.
B. Midterm Grade = 1/3 Prelim Grade + 2/3 (50% Midterm Class Standing + 50% Midterm
Exam).
C. Final Grade = 1/3 Midterm Grade + 2/3 (50% Final Class Standing + 50% Final Exam).

3. Final Examination Components.


60% – Final Project
40% – Written Exam
100% – Total Final Exam

4. In the event that an exam whether Prelim or Midterm has a Practical Exam, the written
exam is equivalent to 40% while the practical exam is equivalent to 60%.

STUDENT PORTFOLIO
Objective(s):
The student portfolio will serve or act as the monitoring of the student progress and learning activities
regarding with the course.
Student Portfolio content(s):

1. The contents must be compiled on a short plastic envelop.


2. Front Page of the course. (Make your own design for the course)
3. Resume with 2x2 picture (TIP format)
4. Course Syllabus (Photocopy)
5. Course Policy (Photocopy)
6. Expectations on the course and instructor
7. Photocopy of permits (Prelim, Midterm and Finals)
8. Save your PDF. Example: “COURSECODE_Prelim_Assessment_Lastname.pdf”
