Additional Skills
Extracurricular/leadership Activities
• Green Club
Worked to clean up the community and help bring awareness to environmental problems. We did
multiple community service projects including highway cleanup, tree planting, community gardens,
opening a thrift store with cheap clothes for low income students, and even helped the school
reduce energy costs and usage. We also created recycling bins so students would create less waste,
and helped beautify the school by landscaping.
Including greenhouse management, landscaping, construction, upkeep, and repair. I work outdoors
at my family cabin at the lake. We have multiple acres of land that often must be cleared and
maintained. I've helped build boat docks, cabins, repaired boats and household items, even learned
about landscape management. Working in my personal greenhouse I have been able to practice the
greenhouse management techniques I hope to use in future business endeavors, including
construction and management of a greenhouse.
I went to Belize and Ireland for two weeks each and it has truly changed my life. I learned so much
about sustainable agriculture, organic farming, renewable resources, and even waste management. I
learned ways to help entire communities limit the amount of waste they produce. It opened my
eyes to the importance of agriculture.
